From the stats I'm seeing the three most important stats are BOA (breakout age), YPRR, and Draft Capital. I think BOA is usually fresh or soph, but the earlier the better. And YPRR, yep, <2.

To be honest, I find that watching players ‘tape’ and highlights makes me a worse fantasy football player. When I first transitioned into dynasty (2010), I did just that and ended up getting excited and trading away assets for guys like Carlton Mitchell and dorin Dickerson. I build better dynasty teams by not paying attention until the NFL swings their draft dick.

I know I just poked fun at you but now I apologize, you actually may be on to something. I too get all glassy eyed rookie fever'ish.
Just recently I picked up JSN for C.Kirk. I was pretty happy. Then I watched tape on this dude and traded JSN for him. I also got a couple 2nd's in the deal and we draft before the NFL draft. So the 2nds could pay dividends if I select right. But anyway, still probably shoulda held on to JSN. But ROOKIE FEVER, it's for real!
