Who should I keep?

Okay roster cut downs for this FFPC league (keep 16 players year to year including a kicker and dst) is later this month. Rosters then expand and need to cut down to 20 for regular season. Right now I have 15 definite keepers (highlighted in bold below) and just need to figure out my 16th.

With just roster construction I'd lean RB, except I don't have much expectation of either Dobbins or Gus. WR I could keep D hop and see if the titans rebound or go with a young guy like tucker. QB wise I could try Rudolph.

I have plenty of depth capital to either grab a QB or wr at 1.06 and then use the 1.12 for a RB or vet QB.

Thoughts on who of the 8 I should keep?

Low key I think Browning might actually have the best combination of talent + youth in that group. Is that crazy of me? But, will he ever get an opportunity? If Burrow was one of your QBs, I'd vote for Browning for sure. As it is, a case could still be made for him.

Post Submit Edit: Ok, I didn't realize Browning is almost 28? How did that happen? Still...I like him.

I voted for Gus Edwards. In your situation I would be CLOSELY following the free agent situation in Baltimore. If he resigns there, I'd keep him happily on that team. Do whatever you need to do...follow the local beat writers on Twitter or whatever, to follow the situation.

Tucker would probably be my third choice. Rudolph seems like a JAG. Small sample size admittedly, but I think Browning >> Rudolph in terms of talent.

It looks like you only start 3 WRs, 4 max if you use one instead of a QB. You have 6 already. Something went horribly wrong if you need Hopkins for more than a spot start. Same argument against the other WRs for me.

The QBs, I’m just not real interested in.

That leaves Dobbins/Gus. Not great options like you mentioned, but I’d still go there. It’s hard not knowing where either might be playing, but I’d go Gus just because he actually has been playing. Hopefully Ravens bring him back and he’s in some kind of committee. And if he turns out worthless, I don’t think you lost much either way.

Hopkins pretty easily for me. No need to target youth there, Hopkins the best player. I get the reasoning with edwards but don’t personally have any interest in him. They’ll get multiple bodies in there and he’s just another backup waiting for an injury like loads of other guys.

Any chance of trading guys away for future picks? That could narrow down your list. For example, if you are able to move DHop or Edwards or someone for a 25-26 3rd or something and then keep whoever you aren’t able to move. Or consolidate some of your WR for a RB then keep DHop/C Samuel. Might not be possible, but just a thought.

Everyone is currently in the same boat with cut downs. 14 position players per team, even bad teams have 14 guys they want to keep over some of these guys. I was planning on basically just making a post in the league to accept any and all bids and sell or cut everyone by end of weekend.

Unrelated but do you like this format? I don’t like that they sell themselves as the dynasty championships or best dynasty site but don’t actually offer Dynasty leagues (unless that’s changed). Not to say you/people can’t enjoy it or like it better than true keep all Dynasty leagues, but it’s really a deep keeper format, not a true dynasty league.

I would guess rebuilding is much more difficult in this format? Hard to rebuild if you can’t throw a lot of youth darts. Although I guess if you stock up on picks, the draft is stocked with some upside young players every year.
Anyways curious your thoughts on it, I looked into joining a startup on there a couple years back but wasn’t sold on the major roster cut downs.

You're thin at RB but deep at WR. I'd work hard to move Hopkins, he was the WR26 last year, SOMEBODY must need him. WTH are you going to do with all of those picks?

FFPC is a good introduction to dynasty. I'm glad it was my first exposure to dynasty because it is easy enough to draft a competitive team year after year. It is definitely not my format of choice. I much rather prefer the leaguesafe format.

So the only issue with keeping a non-NFL starter is that they will face the same decision next year, but now competing with also whoever i draft with my first 2 picks in the first round this year.

Easily Hopkins for me. In this format, if there is one player head-and-shoulders above the others for production in the current year, I'm keeping them 100% of the time. There's plenty of time between now and the NFL kickoff to balance out your roster if need be.

Looks like this is heavily weighed towards D hop. For now I think I'll look to sell or drop all but Gus and Shop, then see if Gus resigns with the ravens.
