After the first three rounds of the NFL draft, has any unattractive RB's stock soared up further than Gus Edwards?

The top free agent brought in was M.A.S.H. Dobbins. After three rounds, the Chargers have not drafted a RB. Honestly, it doesn't matter if they take one on day 3. And they used their early 1st round pick on the best OL in the draft.

Looks like we should have listened when the Chargers said Gus will drive the Bus in 2024. Get on board, "Watch the closing doors", and claim a good seat, cause it's going to be a fun ride this season. Chooooo Choooooooooooo!!

Wait people are down on brooks landing spot? He had possibly the second best spot possible (besides Dallas).

Carolina realized they bleep up with the miles contract. Brooks is definitely the most talented RB on roster and won't be rushed in to play until fully recovered.

Benson got 3rd round capital and I think Conner is a better RB than Sanders and Chubba. I still like him, but that third round capital is a little more concerning.

Loyd and corum got crappy spots. More likely 50/50 rbs than work horses. Unfortunately the norm in this days NFL.

As for the cowboys, there is still a RB I'm interested in seeing go to the cowboys today, plus I think Dallas has Zeke as a backup plan.

I'm fine with the Brooks landing spot. We've seen plenty of good fantasy production on terrible offenses and he's got the opportunity to run away with a good chunk of the workload.

abloom wrote: Fri Apr 12, 2024 9:30 am Late to the party but I love this type of topic. A bunch will likely change post draft but I think the following are buys depending on cost:

Category 1: confident that draft won't change this:
Kamara
Mostert (could be category 3 see below)
Charbs

Category 2: team will likely add a RB in the draft that will cut into production
Gus Bus
Conner

Category 3: players that will likely still perform well enough even though they will be the #2:
Monty

Again really just depends on the cost to acquire but I think these are some undervalued players that will produce and have shown production in the past.

Just reviewing my pre draft RB buys:

Looks like Gus bus can move up. They did end up signing Dobbins but that was after they had brought Dobbins in, he left without contract, failed to get a contract from other teams, and then signed with LAC. I think Gus will get first shot in an offense with some better linemen coming in.

Conner of course may have taken the biggest hit with the draft. I think I still want him, especially if I can get him at a discount. He did a lot of work in the passing game.

Kamara, mostert, and charbs I'm still expecting big roles from. Monty also didn't change significantly.

I'll also add buying Zeke to this list. I think he ends up in Dallas or potentially LAC.

Why is 3rd Rd draft capital concerning? Pretty sure we want RB's to be drafted in the top 3 rounds. With a draft where the top RB was drafted in the 2nd, being the 2nd back off the board in the 3rd seems like an alright thing. Connor is also going to be gone next year, he also hasn't played a full season ever. I really don't get how some are saying Benson got drafted to a bad spot. Yeah MAYBE for one year and then he's the guy. I mean the only dudes on the roster are Demercado (25 yr old UDFA), Deejay Dallas (5th year RB with an AVG of 50 touches per year), Michael Carter (will likely be cut with his $3M cap hit). Anyway, there's only Connor standing in his way and I don't mind that, especially for a 20 year old prospect. I see this as a smash spot in a year or two.

In regards to Corum, it wasn’t the dream landing spot with the Chargers or Cowboys that we would’ve hoped, but he’s a highend backup. If Kyren gets injured and misses significant time for the 2nd consecutive season (his rookie season he had a broken foot and a high ankle sprain and missed 7 games, last year he missed 5 games with a high ankle sprain), he could be very valuable. People are too low on him right now. Snagged him at 2.10 in my rookie draft today.

The odds for Rb's basically gets cut in half every draft round, from 1-3. For example, odds of a 1k rushing season go from 70% round 1, to 46% round 2, to 24% round 3. So yeah, not "concerning", but not ideal either.
