Harrison vs Nabers
What do you all think? Most have MHJ by a significant margin over all other WRs, and anyone not named Williams, and maybe even him. So where do you put Nabers? Is he as landing-spot proof as Harrison is? Is he really the 1B to the 1A or lower?
I'm sure many of us are looking at both, in various drafting positions.
I am trying, for instance, in one league to get the 1.01 but the price is a LOT even from the 1.09 adding some great players. I feel like I could probably make the same offer, even LESS and get the 1.02.
So, Harrison vs. Nabers—how do you see it?
I know, too early, combine, draft, landing spot, etc.
But right now, how do you have it?
One site I visited had Harrison as 94.1 (higher than any other OFF player) and Nabers at 92.0 putting him behind ONLY Williams.
Thoughts?

My thought is this has been asked an answered, a couple of times. I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I can only speak for me, but my opinion hasn't changed in a week.
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts

I didn't see a dedicated thread here in player debates, and I thought it might be worthwhile. I know it's been talked about in various 2024 threads. If there is a dedicated thread somewhere please let me know, I looked but didn't see one. I could have missed it. Thanks.

Re: Harrison vs Nabers
My opinion is that MHJ and Nabers are very close, same tier, 1A and 1B.
I have been on record as saying the only 2 WR prospects that I thought were better than Nabers in the past 8 years are MHJ and Chase.
I feel that 3 years from now I would not be surprised if either was more valuable than the other.
It's like comparing AJ Green against Julio Jones in 2011, IMO.
Green got drafted before Julio, but I am not sure all would say that Green had the better career.

Re: Harrison vs Nabers
^ I think you meant Julio had the better career, right? I get what you're saying though.
I have a number of 1.01 picks in 1QB leagues and 1.02 through 1.05 picks in SF leagues, so I have been watching a lot of film on my spare time.
In regards to the two players mentioned (Marvin Jr and Nabers), it is clear to me that they are by far the two best (non-QB) prospects in the draft this year, well ahead of Odunze for me. I purposely watched them in this order: Odunze, Nabers, Harrison... then backward. Each time, I personally felt clear on the fact that Marvin edges Nabers out by "sufficiently enough to be the 1.01" and Nabers clearly edges Odunze out "largely enough to be the clear 1.02".
So, for me they are WR1 and WR2, but I do get why some are calling Nabers their WR1B... but IMO, Nabers clearly had the better QB, better placed balls from what I saw. I don't say that to knock him down at all because he's simply amazing, it's just if I had my choice the choice would be easy (for me at least).
In SuperFlex, I can easily see a league owner drafting Marvin Jr or possibly even Jayden Daniels over Caleb at 1.01, depending on the league format (like the FFPC RotoViz TriFlex leagues where you need to start 3 WR minimum--I can see an owner taking Marvin Jr. here) over Caleb.. same with Jayden Daniels. If an owner believes Daniels' game will translate well in the NFL, it would make sense to take him at 1.01 given he has the highest FANTASY UPSIDE.
So for me, the non-QB are clearly the same as the overall consensus
1. Marvin Jr
2. Nabers
3. Odunze/Bowers
But for SF:
1. Caleb/Marvin/JDaniels (depending on your preference)
2. Nabers
3. Odunze/Bowers

AJ Green was the better prospect, and got better draft capital than Julio Jones, but in the end, Julio had the better career, mostly because he avoided injuries better. AJ Green was drafted at 1.04, and Julio at 1.06, could easily be a similar scenario between MHJ and Nabers this year.
The better prospect does not always turn out to be the better player.
Justin Jefferson was WR5 in the 2020 draft class, but many would say that JJ is the best WR from that class today.
That is the difference between ranking prospects and ranking players.
For the most part I agree with your prospect rankings, though I can't simply ignore Drake Maye. I have Maye above the Odunze/Bowers tier.
I actually feel that Maye is the safest of the 3 top QB's. Daniels and Caleb have higher ceiling potential, but also lower floor potential than Maye, IMO.
I also feel that MHJ and Nabers are close enough for me that landing spot could matter.
If MHJ goes to NEP at 3, and Nabers goes to Cardinals at 4, I would seriously consider taking Nabers over MHJ.
I know many folks say that talent > landing spot, but these are the same people now whining about Garrett Wilson, Drake London, Chris Olave's QB situations.

I’m not a film guy. I can’t watch a play and tell you all the subtle nuances that some of the guys on here can. But Nabers seems quite a bit more fun and explosive to watch on film as an average joe. With MHJR, I walk away thinking “yeah, he looks pretty good”, but with Nabers I walk away thinking “WOW!”. However, I understand my own limitations in understanding all the finer details, so I trust the experts when they tell me that MHJR is a stellar prospect. It’s a tough one for me because I like Nabers better, but everyone tells me I should like MHJR better.MacDaddy123 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 09, 2024 11:32 pm FWIW: ""Adam Schefter said on his recent podcast, that he heard from multiple trusted sources at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, that Nabers and not Harrison Jr. would be the 1st WR drafted come April. MHJ is the classic prototypical X receiver, the big possession receiver like Julio Jones, AJ Green, Michael Thomas, etc.
While Nabers is more built for speed, like a typical Z receiver, like Tyreek Hill, Stefon Diggs, Ja'Marr Chase.
So the fact that they are different types of WR's, who play different games, makes comparisons more difficult.
I have Nabers slightly ahead, but maybe only because I find those fast, immaculate route runners more impressive.
But when 3rd down comes along, or red zone, many QB's tend to focus on those bigger targets, and their ability to go up and get a ball.
I don't think you can really go wrong. I think MHJ and Nabers are the two safest picks in this draft class.
They are the 2024 version of Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs.

I prefer Nabers. He's over a year younger, too. I just think his game is more versatile. MHJ definitely has the size and downfield ability, I just think Nabers does more well.
