This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Fields Trade

Postby youknowme » Fri Feb 09, 2024 6:08 am

SuperFlex PPR 12 team
Team in signature

Won the league this year and looking to get some cheaper assets for next year. I love buying low and wanted to see what you would give up on my roster to get him?

I’m light on draft picks so looking for player trades. Anything you see that you would do?

There’s no deal shown in your post but I’m going to assume that you are asking if Fields is a good buy low target right now based off of your title. There’s really no telling what Fields’ future looks like until the draft happens. There’s smoke about Washington throwing a massive trade at Chicago to get Caleb. That would likely keep Fields in Chicago unless they just did that deal then went QB at 2. The NFL is in such desperate need for decent QB play that Fields should get plenty of opportunity elsewhere no matter what happens. He’s a solid buy if the price is right. It all depends on your league and how that owner values him. In SF I would have trouble gauging his value. With that said, I’m not sure I would look to add a QB to your lineup. It’s definitely worth adding a QB in that format at all times if the price is right but I’m not sure you get a discount on Fields at this moment.

Talking myself in circles. If you can get a panic deal then I’d say go for it. If you have to pay normal prices to get it done I would probably hold off for now.

Baker and a WR (Ridley, Jamo maybe) or a 2nd seems like a decent offer. May not get accepted, but it's a good spot to start.

i'd rather have mayfield. unexciting but he can throw, and imo fields' best case scenario is having one more season and then being a backup, while i can see mayfield being a starter for 4-5 more seasons. now that one season by fields may be a top 5 fantasy season, but considering your QB room i wouldn't sacrifice the longevity for the one year splash. i also have doubts about field being a starter next season to be fair.

This is exactly the logic I would be throwing at the Fields owner. You are taking on all the risk so you might get Fields very cheap.

Nah, fade on Fields unless you find someone giving him away.
At his current value you would have to package Pittman with Engram and Chubb to get Fields.

Personally, I'd rather hold your package than have Fields, who after 3 years has not shown enough to make him an NFL starting QB after his rookie contract runs out.
