McLaurin for Mims+

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

McLaurin for Mims+

Postby tstafford » Wed Feb 07, 2024 9:11 am

SF, PPR, start QB/2RB/2WR/1TE/3Flex/SF

McLaurin manager put him on the block a few days ago. Pinged him this AM and he wants Mims plus.

I'm considering offering Mims/3.01. My team is roster constrained so a two for one allows me hold a player that might get cut (Wicks, Burks, a 2nd year RB, etc.)

I'm struggling to offer any more than that. And I'm fine if he rejects.

Thoughts?

guessing a 2nd is more appropriate here. im wondering if he put him on the block with some reports indicating there is a chance wshington ends up with caleb and hes hoping someone wants to pay up to get the top option for a caleb led offense

I have the 2.01 and 2.06 and won't part with either to make this deal happen. I think both those picks could yield players I prefer straight up to McLaurin.

Since I wasn't sure, I put this in the DLF trade analyzer and Mims/3.01 is dead on tied for value. But it does feel light, I know.

As a McLaurin owner I wouldn't consider moving him for Mimms and 3.01. I have always believed in the talent though. He doesn't need Caleb Williams to succeed.
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts

Yeah that seems about right for what I would expect. It will vary from owner to owner but for me Mims is a very low value asset. I would probably need that 2.01 on top and even then I may pass. Terry is a very good WR that dealt with a QB who mysteriously targeted everyone but his top 2 it’s all year. Very strange. I personally don’t think Mims will ever crack top 30-40 in a season but that’s just my assessment. Maybe I’m wrong.

Hold the line here if this isn't enough. McLaurin is good, but he's not a difference maker. Entering his age 29 season where he's slated to play with a rookie QB he's firmly off my radar if I need t give up more than what you've offered to land him.

Suppose I'm higher on McLaurin's prospects with a descent QB. Just sold a few smaller pieces and Aaron Jones for him and was pretty happy. I'd ship a mid-second and Mims personally.

I'm not a Scary Terry fanboy, but he has value for a contender. I wouldn't want Mims on a contender or a rebuild.

Yeah I'd have passed on that too. Very big difference between Mims and Mclaurin IMO- way more than a 3rd
