I like this trade and see it as window dressing of Diggs for Rice. Seems like both teams can win this deal, with the Diggs recipient getting a win-now piece and Rice an asset for the future (depending on the legal issue).

Because of the bigger risk on your side, I'd hope for a better pick upgrade. But I'm sure Rice will be fine after sitting out a few games, as long as they don't stick him in prison for too long.

Team receiving the 2.03 now flipped it in another deal.

2.03, complete 2025 draft (round 1-4), Mostert, Lockett

For

1.04

Team giving up the 2025 picks earned the 1.01 this year.
yikes.
Double zoinks

Did they have a bunch of injured players that held them back, or a perennial low-performer?
Just a down team at the moment. Some of their current players:

QB - Rodgers
RB - R White, Allgeier, McLaughlin, Dowdle
WR - JSN, C Watson, Dotson, Mooney, Mingo, Douglas, Michael Wilson, Burks
TE - Andrews, Waller

They do have 1.01 and 1.04 now this year. Hard to imagine those 2025 picks they gave up aren’t early, but you never know I guess.

If this owner lands two franchise QBs, it'll have been worth it... otherwise, there's always 2026.

Upgrade from AJones to Jacobs, but would have rather you tried to swing something for a TE using that 1.10.

14 team SF TEP PPR start 10:

Give: Love, G. Wilson, T. Dell, C. Jones
Get: Purdy, 1.03 (Nabers), N. Collins, W. Robinson
I wouldn't have done it, but I don't hate it. This is more of a personal preference, go get your guy decision for me.
Agreed.
Out of interest, as I only play 12 teamers, isn't it normally a waste to spend 1.03 on Nabers in a 14 teamer SF?
As I see the starting requirements aren't that deep, so a QB should be highly valuable here.
Yes, QB's have more value in 14 team than in 12 team SF, and QB is not totally off my board at 1.03.
The way I look at it, the QB's are all riskier plays, and Caleb is no doubt the 1.01.
When I say I am taking Nabers at 1.03, I am assuming that Caleb and MHJ are off the board.

I feel that MHJ and Nabers are the 2 safest picks in this draft class.
I have Nabers similar to Ja'Marr Chase in the 2021 draft class.
Would taking Chase at 1.03 over Zach Wilson or Trey Lance have been a mistake? Or even over Trevor Lawrence at 1.01?

Now, if the NYG pick Nabers, and my QB2, Drake Maye goes to Minnesota, and JJ stays in Minnesota?
That would be a situation that could tempt me to go QB at 1.03.

I can live with my QB room: Burrow, Purdy, Geno.
WR is the strength of my team: J. Chase, T. Hill, P. Nacua, N. Collins, are all starters, and Nabers will be too if I get him.
I can start up to 5 WR's. Other WR's on roster are: J. Dotson, W. Robinson, T. Burks, M. Wilson, J. Tolbert, P. Washington.

From what I have seen in my SF leagues, 12 and 14 teamers, is that the teams that spend too much capital on the QB position tend to miss the playoffs, as the rest of their roster is too weak.
Teams that get great value at the QB position tend to win championships.

QB rooms of 2023 champions:

-Goff/Stafford/Ridder
-J. Allen/Howell/Ridder/ Heinicke
- Hurts/Stafford/Z. Wilson
- Lamar/B. Young/ Fields
-Hurts/Carr/Geno

I saw 2 teams with Josh Allen and Mahomes, and neither team came close to making the playoffs.
Just can't waste too much capital on the QB position, and dream that someone will pay you a haul for a QB.
It's not gonna happen.

Anecdotally, did a startup this summer and a team ended up with Mahommes and Allen after the first round of the draft... but it took his startup 2nd and 3rd to make it happen. When the trade went down in the middle of the first round everyone said 'there goes the league...'. That team ended up 7th and not even making the playoffs (even after trading away their 2024 1st to go 'all-in'.

There are multiple ways you can win. You need at least one strong QB in SF, but don't necessarily need two.

Had two go down in one league tonight. Not involved.

Team A gives: 1.04, 1.06, 2.04, 2.06
Team B gives: 1.01, 3.03

Team A gives: 1.02
Team B gives: 1.05, 1.06

Team B is the same team in both trades

It’s a 2QB league.

Thus making the net of trades for B:
Gives: 1.01 and 1.05 and 3.03
Gets: 1.02 and 1.04 and 2.04, 2.06

I could see someone having tier 1 1-2 tier 2 3-4. So if that’s the case for them, it’s a good deal

This trade will look even better for B after the draft. The 2.04/2.06 can be used to grab two RBs. I think that might be the best strategy for approaching RB in this class - take several in the 2nd.

I wonder who Team A in the first deal is targeting at 1.01. They paid pretty heavily to get their guy. That much better than anything I've been offered on the 1.01.
