Push for another championship or get younger?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Push for another championship or get younger?

Postby bg1289 » Tue Jan 09, 2024 11:59 am

I won the championship tis year and I feel like I had a lot of luck on my side (no major injuries, beat the #1 seed than to Cooper in week 16, etc.). I am torn on if I should try to compete again this coming year or sell off some pieces and get younger/acquire more picks. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I would try to run it back, as I don't see any obvious moves to make regarding selling players. You have decent youth already, and not many older players. You should put in your signature what kind of league (SF 12TM...), and also post draft picks, that way commenters can get a better idea of your team's situation.
12 TM PPR / TEP / 1 QB / Start 8

QB: J Hurts
RB: K Williams, T Spears, C Brown
WR: T Higgins, D Smith, G Pickens, Z Flowers, J Reed
TE: McBride, E Engram, I Likely

2024: 1.02, 1.08, 4.07, 5.07, 6.07, 7.07

I appreciate the advice. I forgot to add the picks and the league type. They have since been added. Thanks

Welcome to the community and congrats on the title!

You could always let the market dictate which direction you go. It never hurts to shop and see if the returns are better for you than holding and seeing how the season goes next year. You don't have the most stacked team, but you also having a solid build and anything can happen once you make the playoffs as you experienced this year. You just have to get in. Enjoy shopping this offseason, don't force anything and if the returns are not there, there is no reason to force anything with this build. You will also add hopefully two solid 1st round rookies. Roll what you have, see how the first few weeks go and reevaluate from there. We have a very long time and lots to play out before you set another lineup. Most of the time, letting the dust settle and taking a step back is the best way to go when you have a solid build.

No need to tear it down. Those picks give you the flexibility to acquire good+young players in various ways.
