2023 week 17 - Championship week

Well everyone we're here. After a long injury filled season the dust is settling. Welcome to championship weekend. If for some reason this isn't your championship weekend and you play week 18 as well, I don't know what to say except I think you're fortunate that I think a lot of teams will still have meaningful games next week.

So what is everyone looking forward to this week? What matchups do you have?

I've got 3 championship matchups and one 3rd place matchup this week.

Team #1 is part of a 4 team all play 2 week final. I'm down by 6 points (even after sitting Pickens last week and going up against amari cooper)
1st place: 167 pts
2nd (me): 161 pts
3rd: 136
4th: 125

Team #2 is also part of a 4 team all play 2 week final:
1st (me): 180 pts (thank you Puka & amari)
2nd: 150
3rd: 132
4th: 102

Team #3 has made it to the finals in back to back years (defending champ) which also has a repeat championship pot so I'm one game away from that. Currently going up against the owner that eliminated me from semi finals this past week for team #4 so a little extra revenge is desired. But the real question is, do I start mahommes against cinci, or do I go with flacco vs NYJ or browning against the chiefs. Seems like the best move is mahommes but seriously so I really want to start him?

Team #4 koed from playoff, no 3rd place matchup. I did win the regular season reward so a little consolation there but will have to wait til next year.

Team #5: knocked out of finals matchup during the ravens 49ers game..will be going for a small consolation prize in the 3rd place game.


Biggest things I'm looking for:
Does flacco continue his passing dominance?
Does mahommes put up a good game?
Are the ravens playing the best football right now?
Can the eagles bounce back from an underwhelming victory?
Can Purdy bounce back from a horrible performance and what can the 49ers do about their o-line?

I had two number 1 seeds. Got beat in one (thanks Trevor Lawrence, DJ Moore, Waddle, and Etienne) and barely held on in another to make the finals.

Next week I need Mahomes, AJB, and Justin Jefferson to score an obscene amount of points. I want Amari Cooper weeks from AJB and JJ then Mahomes to throw for at least 3 TDs, 350 yards, and it wouldn't hurt if he could run one in too. Opponent will try and ride Amari Cooper and Justin Fields just as he did in week 16.

I'm the 90s Bills in my fantasy leagues. I make it to the dance and collapse. Or I'm the Marvin Lewis of the leagues, dominate regular season, die in playoffs.

I'm in one championship, out of two contenders. 2nd place regular season, league leader in points scored. Friend of mine is my opponent for the ship and we always split the pot when we both make it. This year, I'm by far the favorite, but still happy to make that deal. Still plenty of bragging rights involved.

So, honestly doesn't matter what happens at this point. I'm just hoping to not lose anymore players to injuries for next season already (Hockenson )

I'm only in one Championship out of my three leagues. (I keep it chill, too many leagues is bad for my brain)

MVP's of that team have been J. Allen, CMC, Kyren Williams, and Puka. Should be a great final.

The thing I'm definitely most excited for is starting the CLE DST against the Jets this week. I was cracking up setting the lineup last night and remembering that that was the Week 17 matchup.

Does flacco continue his passing dominance?

I’m torn on this one. I’ve been rolling Flacco in the SF spot after losing Burrow and Cousins. But I’m not sure I want to play him this week. Thursday game which I usually don’t like. Tough matchup vs NYJ. He helped me get to championship, so tough to bench…but my gut right now is telling me to pass on him this week. Couple days to ponder…

Made the playoffs in 5 of 6 leagues, where the one that missed was an orphan I picked up this past offseason.

Made it to the semi-finals in all 5 (2 had byes).

3 are through to the championship game, though the 2 I care about most are the ones that lost this past week. For one of the teams that’s vying for a title, I’ve picked wrong between Goff and Love at QB every week; hopefully I’ve got it right this time (leaning Love at the moment)! Another is back after losing the championship game last year. I’ll be up against the same opponent, but relying on Tua at QB against Baltimore has me nervous.

1 vs 2 in my one and only league. Defending champ. Lost Hill in UFA, managed to strike gold getting Keenan on a lower salary. But my most consistent player for 2 years now has been Josh Allen. Thank God the Mahomes owner never entertained any ideas.

Title game has my Swift vs his Hurts. Let's see how much help I give him on that front.

Team 1 in my sig is in the championship game. It's #1 vs #2. Trying to repeat a trophy but the other guy is the commish and he's put together a beast of a team. Even with Burrow+MAndrews on IR, he has CMC, Breece, DJM, DAdams, JJefferson, Olave, Pitts and good IDPs. I beat him in the championship game last year, but I don't have a good feeling about this year ... especially now that Chase+Pacheco are probably going to miss the game.

Team 2 surprisingly made it to semifinal week but ran out of gas and rolled over and played dead. After the way the last few weeks of the regular season went for that team, I'm just happy they made it to the final 4. I'll be happy to roll this squad back next year, with a little tweaking.

The Fantasy Gods are shining brightly on me at the moment (thanks in big part to this forum's advice), two main dynasty leagues and made finals in both, going for 3peat in big league and repeat in other league (won both last year). I'll be slightly favored in both leagues but going to be a nailbiter indeed, lots of tough lineup decisions to make.

Just as everyone expected after 16 weeks, Raheem Mostert, Rachaad White & Kyren Williams are all top 5 RBs.

Those are my 2 starting RB (White and Williams), since Chubb and Dobbins got on IR. I also have ETN, Stevenson, Ford, Herbert and Warren but not sure I can start any one of them other than ETN at Flex!
