Bench Starters? (Already in playoffs)

I need input please. I’ve already made playoffs , I have a small shot at a bye week, however if I lose this week, I lock up another teams first rounder as 1.05/1.06.

Basically, I have the 2024 first of another powerhouse team that went all in. If I bench my starters this week, their odds of making playoffs are basically zero. Their team is absolutely stacked, but if I do this, not only do they miss playoffs but that first goes from potentially 1.12 to 1.05 or 1.06. Note that I wouldn’t play my starters, but I would have active players in my lineup.

What do I do?

As long as this doesn’t violate any official tanking rule (if you league has them), then have at it. Seems like all you need to do is lose to your opponent so you might be able to do this more subtlety by starting some starters with horrendous matchups etc…

There’s a rule about failing to set a starting lineup, and it was created a few weeks ago. It was specific to teams playing guys on bye.

Doing something like this is just asking to get kicked out of a league, destroy a league, brand yourself a dbag that people don't want to trade with later, or all sorts of other crap consequences. A rule was already created in this league this year for players not starting people in a bye so you would definitely have another new rule created soon. Don't be that guy.

For context, the league member that this would impact has made posts about upcharging me for a QB when I didn’t have one for a bye week.

This is a group of close friends and generally there is immense trash talk, but this owner probably deserves to suffer and I’d benefit greatly.

Yes team in sig. We are a league that’s been around 8 years and have no by laws established. I’ve asked for them numerous times.
