Dude, obviously you should set your best lineup. I'm surprised anyone thinks otherwise. who cares if there isn't a rule prohibiting it, it's the whole spirit and point of the game?

I understand trying to stick it back to him, but this affects more than just him as it could mean other teams that are deserving don't make the playoffs. and also, what is so bad about saying in the chat "make him pay up for a qb" especially since you said there's a fair bit of trash talk that goes on? I dunno, there may be more to that story like you guys genuinely don't like each other, but it's hard to see that as being outright mean spirited. maybe that makes him obnoxious, but either way these two things definitely are not the same. Also, it sure sounds like you would be holding any other manager for ransom if they were in the same situation if you're considering doing this.

There's really no scenario where what you're planning to do can be justified. I've never seen a bathroom with a list of rules that say don't crap in the urinal, and I don't need one.

I started my starters and WON! I got a playoff bye because the other team in my division lost AND the team I was hoping to keep out of playoffs missed a tie breaker by about 10 points scored so I GOT 1.05 BABY!!!!! I already have 1.01 from another owner too! KARMA WINS!!!!

I think this was a good learning experience. Good for you. I think there was some real productive dialogue, and honestly, I think you will feel way better about all this, than had you done the opposite, even if the result was the same, in getting the 1.05. You also don't have a league "situation", now either.

There still is a league "situation" that arose from this, but at least now the league can take future precautions against it happening for next year and on.

FWIW, I had the option of straight up dropping Levis before the game last night... and by doing so would have guaranteed me the 1.01 next year (as opposed to 1.02). Decided against it based on similar rationale to some of the folks here saying 'don't do it'... and ended up getting the 1.01 anyways by 6 points on the full year.

I'd always advocate for doing the right things... and you'll very much feel better about that 1.01 for the duration of the league based on your choice.

My back and forth trying to lose game came down to Hyatt and a 1.5pt deficient heading into Monday night. Win. 11-3 riding a three game win streak. That and a miracle will take the title.

Yes team in sig. We are a league that’s been around 8 years and have no by laws established. I’ve asked for them numerous times.

A 9 year old league full of buddies, do you want to go there? Perhaps talking with your commish, about what you are contemplating, and point out why you need rules on this, is an idea. Someone else may do this in future, but do you want to be the one to do it? Or could you point out that if he doesn't set something concrete, that this will eventually happen. It's all down to how you feel about it, and the pros and cons. League stability/fun/enjoyment.

If you are friends, this could really ruin friendships. I've seen it happen, in a home league.
