Jayden Reed Trade

Postby PigeonBoys » Tue Nov 21, 2023 10:25 am

Woke up today to an offer of a 2025 probably late first for Jayden Reed. I’m a little apprehensive in taking it cuz I like what Reed has done his rookie year, he’s hitting all those rookie wr production metrics we look at. Would y’all take a first for Reed?

a late first in a 12 teamer (1.10-1.-12) is a little above sticker price for Reed in my book. This one depends on what you would rather have as your current WR stable is stacked so Reed wouldnt sniff the field for a while. You could pull the trigger on this one IMO

I drafted him at the 1.11 and he's done nothing to lose value so that's a clear reject IMO.

A late 1st two years out is not worth making the move here. Reed has looked good and approved as the year has gone on. I get a 1st is always this potential to be a great player, but Reed looks like a solid young WR. Pass even with your solid WR room.

This one’s definitely a bit tricky, the other owner and I were talking about how off the calculators out there are on Reed. We both agreed that a mid 2nd is a crazy low valuation, he’s beneath Downs and Flowers on a lot of sites which is confusing since he’s clearly outperforming both.

I drafted him with 3.11 lol so this feels a bit like I get a free first for drafting well. Reed is on my taxi right now just hanging out accumulating value.

Depends on if you think u can trade that 251st for a WR better than Reed?

I agree with Gator that in 1 to 1 value, Reed is better. He’s already a startable asset, where as you can’t start a ‘25 1st for 1.5 years, and that’s IF you draft a startable rookie.

So the answer lies within what you know/believe your league to value future 1sts and if you think you can flip that ‘25 1st into a WR3 or better by the start of next season
SF - PPR - 12t - start10
Notable Assets in Rebuild
QB: Mahomes - Levis - Rudolph
RB: K Mitchell - J McLaughlin - C Rodriguez - Z Evans

TE: MAndrews - Kraft
'24: 1.1, 1.7, 2.1, 2.6, 2.10, 3.1, 3.10
‘25: 1 1st, 2 2nds, 2 3rds

2nd year DFF
SF - PPR - 12t - start10
QB: TLaw - Purdy - Goff
RB: Chubb - D Montgomery - D Singletary - A Mattison - K Miller - J Hill
WR: CeeDee - Aiyuk - Rice - Godwin - J Reed - E Moore
TE: Kittle - Kincaid - Chig
picks: 1.09, 2.11

x2. This thinking is spot on, and Reed is hot right now and producing. Solid hold. Unless the value ups to a mid 24 1st, then I'd flip him.

I think the target would be WR2 or better based on how Reed has been playing over the past 4 weeks. He has a high-end WR2 ceiling and a low WR3 floor. Usually a single first can land a solid WR2 in most cases. So that option is there for sure.

I'm taking the 1st (and I'm a Packers fan and love Reed).

1) Starting lineups are shallow for your team in sig., and you're pretty loaded at WR.
2) Yes, it's currently looking like a late 1st. But that "late" can change very dramatically...

Now that I’m looking at his roster I’ll likely be taking the deal. It’s very much a win now aging roster, garbage bench, with only a 24 2nd to improve the roster. A 2025 1st could feasibly be a mid or better. Looking at our league history he’s never finished better than 6th.

Opposing owners core roster:
Patrick mahomes
Derrick Henry
Keenan Allen
Amari Cooper
Travis kelce
Tyler Lockett
James cook
Only meaningful bench players: r. Penny, t. Boyd, J. Meyers

Lol and I’m realizing the dude never even setup his taxi this year smdh.

And I changed the poll setting if y’all want to change votes.
