If we are just gonna go on talking about rules…

How about QBs abusing rules for out of bounds and sliding? Steve @ PFF went on some rants today about things I’ve been saying.

The amount of rules a defender has to play within while pursuing Lamar/Hurts/Allen near the sidelines where they all could juke you, truck you, hurdle you, fake slide, fake out of bounds, slide, or run out of bounds. If you touch them and they didn’t fake slide but actually slid, 15 yards. If you touch them and they didn’t fake go out of bounds but did, 15 yards. Can’t go low. Can’t go high.

Doesn’t even need to be these high level athletes. Hell I’ve seen Zach Wilson fake going out of bounds to gain more yards.

They can either be protected and they can’t pull this bleep or they should be treated as anyone else.

The QB running is the most boring play in the nfl. Defenders can't touch them because they always slide. There's no anticipation of a big hit. Once you see them run you know they will take the yards and slide. Boring. And there's nothing I like more than seeing a qb get the snot knocked out of them.

And worse, when they get greedy and slide late the defender still gets flagged if they touch them. I wish the refs could use some common sense and tell the qb too bad, you slid too late. But refs and common sense don't mix well.

well the refs missed a pretty good hit on Herbert last night near the 10 yard line that shouldve been a penalty as he was completely out of bounds before being hit. These ref are missing calls left and right pathetic.

Yep. Pretty ugly so far. Fields not much better, couple bad misses. That graphic just now that his average pass is less than a yard downfield so far…yikes.
