Where are we on Will Anderson?

I haven't watched much Texan's games but he's hasn't been putting up much points yet sadly. Definitely way too early to be getting worried but I'm curious if there is anyone that's been watching him that has any insight?

I also have not been watching Texans games personally but from what I hear, he’s grading well and getting pressures.

Not worried at all (and I took him in the 6th round of a startup 😳)

Good to hear. I have also spent a bit on him so I was curious. Thank you.

he's no jonathan greenard, that's for sure!

he's getting the snaps, he isn't filling up the stat sheet. i haven't watched much either, but i've been impressed by a few plays here and there.
i've never been a big fan though, and houston got lucky that they hit on stroud and won't have a terrible record, or the trade for anderson might have looked terrible.

still, if you liked him, you may have a chance to get him. i'd look at cheaper options because i don't think he'll ever be a garrett/bosa/watt kind of player.

Agreed I’m biased cause he was way way overrated and that trade was a disaster but quite frankly I haven’t seen him make a play thus far.

Edge rushers take a while to produce.
Just a difference between a 22 year old dude going up against 7 year vet offensive lineup.
22 year old has not developed into a full grown man yet, give him time.
I think he is doing well for a rookie.

I mean Kayvon Thibodeaux had 4 sacks as a rookie last year, he has 8.5 sacks already this year.
Anderson is currently about on the same sack pace as Kayvon Thibodeaux was last year.

it depends on what the expectations are. with his draft capital, the expectation (from the texans at least) is that he'll be elite. considering he was going late 1st/early 2nd in fantasy drafts, looks like FF managers' expectation, too.
most elite edge rushers have shown a lot more than what anderson has shown so far, even as 22 yo going against seasoned vets.
i believe he will become a good edge rusher, but not elite level, which means "replaceable", so i would sell if he still has the same value as in may.

he's on the same pace as thibodeaux was last year. or on the same pace travon walker was last year... if he ends up between the two, i won't be all that impressed.

Per Rotoworld, The rookie has been dominant so far this season, ranking third in pass rush win rate and first in run stop win rate.

Sooo he's been good, just not showing up in the box scores quite yet.

This is promising!

Interesting to see both sides. I was one of the many who took him early 2nd, in fact I traded up a few spots lol. I'm definitely not selling at this point, like my unfortunate number of Jamo shares, just gonna ride it out and see what happens.

^^^^ Will Anderson belongs nowhere near a Jamo conversation 😂

Everything points to Jameson Williams likely never being a fantasy difference-making asset.

Will Anderson on the other hand, is producing exactly as I hoped. Not consistently producing big weekly outputs, but he’s consistently getting pressures and he’s doing so at one of the harder positions for a rookie to succeed.

I’d liken Anderson’s rookie year so far, to a WR like Drake London last year. Sure, it’s not Garret Wilson and it’s definitely not Justin Jefferson. But it’s not worrisome.

Haha come on just let me keep lying to myself about all my Jamo shares. I swear next week is gonna be the one ;)

Fair assessment, though I am still holding as of now.
I got Anderson at 2.06 in my rookie draft, still disappointed that I took him over LaPorta, who went at 2.07 in a TEP league.
Nothing I can do about that now, time will tell.

I'd trade him for a 1st, but can't see trading him for a random 2nd.
perhaps because I didn't over-pay for him is the reason I am not so disappointed in him.
