Yeah, it's a great question. We thought they'd be in the mix last year for one of the Bryce / Stroud / AR tier of QB's, but they quickly proved they were keen to exceed expectations and play "keep away" bully ball with Mariota. (Remember when C-Pat was killing everyone in fantasy with his insane age 31 breakout? Those were the days)
The good news is that there are a LOT of QB's in next years draft that could prove "serviceable enough" to be a massive upgrade on the absolute poop-tier QB-ing they are getting right now. The top two guys - Caleb Williams, Drake Maye - are probably out of reach... but I think most here would agree that a dice-roll on the unknown upside of guys like Shedeur Sanders, Quinn Ewers, Bo Nix, Penix, hell, even JJ McCarthy... any of those names give you more reasons for optimism than Ridder.
Add to that Kirk Cousins going to the highest bidder, Kyler Murray potentially being in trade talks if ARI decide to cut bait, and who else knows... there could be a few guys floating out there. Again: anything is an upgrade at this point.
Agreed that we see Taylor Heineken soon, too. Surprising it's not this week... but also would be good poetry if it's Week 6 vs. Washington, his old team.
