What are we thinking after his performance this week? Outlook for this year and beyond?

Feels like a QB2 type to me. I don't love his field vision and he is just not overly mobile to my eye test. Played really well this week though so there is definitely upside for more. I'm just more skeptical than excited here.

NGL I'm impressed

I don't care if it's garbage time 384 yards and no picks with the OL and weapons group Houston has is something to take note of

Still don't see the ceiling due to rushing but the guy can play

Don't forget Stroud actually has 626yds on 91 pass attempts with zero interceptions on the season. I don't know how readily such stats are available, but it would be interesting to see how many rookie QBs have started and played their first two games without an interception.

I already expected CJ to be the best of the three rookie QBs at actual passing and processing speed and making good decisions. I don't know what his ceiling is, but his game-to-game floor projects to be somewhere around QB15-18 going into season 2. I think his dynasty ranking is better than that.

I doubted him a little because of his situation in college. But he's impressed me so far. He's definitely moving up rankings with Love and Howell while guys like Fields, Watson and Pickett move down

I may be a homer but he's doing with 4 starting O-linemen out, a rookie OC, and a mess of WRs and no running game. I mean he looks head and shoulders above Bryce who was thought to be the most NFL ready QB coming out

I don’t think his WRs are that bad. They’re mostly just unproven. Tank seems pretty good and Collins has always shown signs of being decent and seems to be cashing in on that this year. Woods is a perpetually underrated and they even have some upside depth. No elite guys, but these guys could compete for starter snaps on most teams.

Woods looked totally and completely washed in Tennessee last year

Like barely in the league level

Collins and Dell are alright but them being your top 2 WRs is really not indicative of an offense that should be throwing for 300+ yards

Dell especially is very undersized

Stroud sure looks like a solid NFL QB. The game is obviously not too big for him.

This team will be playing from behind all year so he will get loads of experience reading defenses. I see him as a strong dynasty buy even in 1 QB leagues.

I’m not sure assessing Woods on his play for a team with Treylon Burks and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine as their best secondary receivers is a fair assessment. That offense was terrible. Woods has never been a lead receiver who can beat the other team’s top coverage. He’s way better in a support role as he is in now.

Thanks for that. That's just more reason to help predict his ascension!

I remember this being a talking point in 2016 with Dak Prescott and Carson Wentz. Dak went without an interception until his 6th game (155 attempts through 5 games), and Wentz made it to game 4 (102 attempts through 3 games).

I’ll be happy if he puts up Kirk Cousins level production for the next 10 to 15 years
