Puka

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

I was just offered a 24 1st (mid to late) + 24 2nd for him and I’m still hesitating. Of course it’s in a 2 pt PPR league and so even more valuable, but you’re 🙏🏻 for random 1st players to get this type of usage/production (even if reduced by 50% when Kupp comes back). 🤷

He will cost a 1st at this point if you want him. I would be cautious if trying to acquire right now as his value is extremely inflated.

I think this is right on both points. And probably will be viewed as an unpopular POV.

The time to buy is a couple weeks after Kupp is back. If Puka continues to be FF relevant along side Kupp I don't think the price goes up all that much and if he comes back to Earth it should fall down to a 2nd (which seems like a good deal to me).

The other argument would be that all rookie picks (inc. first rounders) are crap shoots. At least in the case of Puka we have seen that he can be FF relevant (and then some) in the NFL. If a manager can squint and tell themselves Puka might be the next ARSB (missed by NFL/FF alike), then paying a first now is fine. The plus side is that he will be a FF starter for at least the next few weeks. That's not nothing on a contender.

I'm only buying right now in the most specific of situations - contender, first likely late, Puka will play for me immediately and better yet I am the Kupp owner.

Unfortunately, if you don't have him you probably missed him. It's going to cost more than you should pay at this point.

You could always toss out some 2nds and see if the owner bites, but don't get hopeful. I would not send a first unless it's a later first and you are a contender needing the production.

I just got Puka today for Calvin Austin + a late 25 1st in a 14 team SF league.

Does Zach Charbonnet + a late 2nd sound fair?

WR: London, Tank Dell, Pickens JSN, Michael Wilson, Quentin Johnston

Seems slightly pricey to me. Charb was a late first. Unless we have given up on him two weeks in to the season, Charb for Puka straight up sounds like plenty to me. And if it's not it shows (to me at least) that Puka is not a buy right now.
