Biggest dynasty trade of my life! (Advice pls)

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Biggest dynasty trade of my life! (Advice pls)

Postby Prison_Mike » Fri Sep 08, 2023 2:54 am

(Really it’s 2 trades, I’ll explain) - Team 1 in signature - 12tm PPR SuperFlex

I’m pushing all my chips in owner and I have been going back and forth. This is my final offer that I think will get it done but I’m hesitant

Give: London + ‘24 1st (mine, should be late) + 3rd
Get: JT + Aiyuk

Too steep for JT?

UPDATE: I've got a verbal agreement to the JT deal if I take out the 3rd and add Dalvin Cook (I'm fine with losing Cook if he's the grease that gets the deal done).

I have another deal in place to land Bijan (give: early ‘24 1st + mid ‘24 1st + Olave + Bigsby, Get: Bijan + Diontae + Muth)

Something I like to do in dynasty is get a verbal offer in place, and then go find another deal that compliments the one I have in place (either makes up for positional deficiencies caused by players I’m shipping out, or doubles down on pushing chips in or tearing the roster down)

So in total, the net result here would be:

Give: London + Olave + Bigsby + x3 ‘24 1sts (early, mid, late) + late 3rd
Get: Bijan, JT, Aiyuk, Diontae, Freiermuth

The Bijan offer is pretty much locked. Should I do the JT offer or does the loss of Olave AND London put me in a worse spot ?

Trying to figure all this out. Am I right that the Bijan deal is this:
Give: Olave, Bigsby, two 2024 firsts (early/mid)
Get: Bijan, Diontae, Freier
If so, I'm sure this is fine and what it takes to get Bijan. But once again it's why I'm not buying Bijan. I don't want to lose Olave and two good firsts in SF. I've been out and remain out on paying the Bijan tax. I'm glad I own him in redraft because I want aboard the train, but not in dynasty.

If I was going to do either I'd rather pass on the Bijan deal and just do the JT one. I think it's better on value. JT might not do a lot this season for FF managers, but he's not dead. He's still a top RB talent that will put up numbers again. London is a great asset that I am buying but I would be willing to pay this to get JT. I'm trying not to start London this year anyway.

Correct. Maybe I should go back to the drawing board with the Bijan owner and see what it would cost to get Javonte/Diontae/Muth instead of Bijan?

As for the JT deal, I understand preferring that one. That one however, is not locked in. That's one I feel is a strong offer and could get it done, but the JT owner has been a bit difficult in dealings.

I'll spare you the details of the 7 JT offers that were sent back and forth over the past few days, but I know he's interested in London and 1sts, so I think he'd be willing to add Aiyuk if he's getting both London and a 1st back

^^^I'd for sure rather pay less in a Javonte deal so I'd explore that. And I see why you want Freier. Also Diontae feels like a solid buy low right now (so I like that too).

I don't think I get all 3 without giving him his 1st back. What do you think about: his '24 1st + Hollywood + Bigsby for the trio? Again his 1st is probably only early if it goes back to him so think of it as a mid

Neither of those trades are of interest to me if I'm pushing my chips in to contend.

I'd rather wait a few weeks then go grab some undervalued rbs.

First trade is fine. JT risk is real but should be a 20ppg scorer down the stretch and only 24....Aiyuk probably scores similarly to London over the season.

It's out there. We'll see if he takes it. I'm gonna go back to the drawing board on the other one

I get it, it's pricey. Finding & trading for those undervalued guys can be easier said than done (especially considering this specific league makeup - many of the guys you'd probably look at grabbing are on three teams, two of which are guys that really just do not trade unless massively in their favor, the third is the trade partner in the Bijan deal)

But point taken; in theory, I agree

I think you are going with the Robinson deal based on the new post.

I'd do both. Although I'm more in favor of the second (Bijan) than the first, because I'm concerned JT won't deliver in '23. There are too many uncertainties around JT for me to feel comfortable about moving quality assets for him. But if YOU believe in JT, that's what matters.

There are risks involved, but the roster is built (being built) to make a run. Fortune favors the bold.

You're saying you'd do both?

Both are now officially on the table.
But I did tell the Bijan owner that I might want to explore Javonte/Diontae/Muth instead of Bijan

I'd have to give him his 1st (would probably be something like his 1st + Hollywood + Bigsby + 3rd), but it would allow me to keep Olave and a 1st for next year

I'm leaning that way but I'm torn on whether the flexibility of keeping a 1st and Olave by going after Javonte instead of Bijan in that deal

That said, if I do both, I do like the idea of rolling out (when healthy):
Herbert/Kyler, Bijan/JT/Barkley, Chase/Diggs/Aiyuk/Diontae, Muth

id hold dude push all in next year if you got all these firsts and a solid team or get way cheaper deals id rather buy low on some high upside guys than invest in unknowns and hurt assests.
