Hopkins potenial trade

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Hopkins potenial trade

Postby Gator Sens » Tue Sep 05, 2023 11:29 am

Hey all,

I hope everyone is looking forward to officially getting started this week!

I had a trade come through and was wondering how everyone views this. I am the defending champion and feel fine sitting back and seeing how my team comes together but always down to look at a deal whenever it comes though. The trade talks for Chase fell through today which was disappointing but this one came through from a different manager.

Give: Brian Robinson Jr
Get: DeAndre Hopkins

Hold the young RB with potential or take the safer yet older asset?

12 team - start - 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, and 3 flex (non-SF)

Main build
QB: Lawrence, Prescott
RB: Jacobs, Etienne, Stevenson, Dobbins, Brian Robinson Jr
WR: Jefferson, Lamb, Godwin, Jeudy, Ridley
TE: Kittle, Njoku, Okonkwo

Thanks for the time!

I'm holding here. You should be fine with your WR core

I'm making the trade. With only 1 RB starting slot, I don't see value in Brian Robinson in this format and I think Gibson is going to be the one to own in PPR. Hopkins will be a very good bench/flex piece for this contending lineup even if for one year.
1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex

QB - Fields, Howell, Levis, Rodgers
RB - Montgomery, Dillon, Achane, Ford, Foreman Spears, De. Johnson, Ch. Brown
WR - Di Johnson, Olave, DJM, JSN, Addison, Dell, E. Moore, R. Moore, Pierce, Osborne, Atwell, Reynolds
TE - Kincaid, Hudson

1.01, 1.09, 1.10

1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 4 Flex, SF

QB - Hurts, Fields, Howell, Bridgewater, Wentz, Hoyer
RB - Barkley, Mixon, Dillon, Spears, Foreman, CEH, Murray, Strong
WR - Jefferson, Higgins, Allen, R. Moore, Palmer, MVS, Patrick, Reynolds, Woods, Osborne, Campbell, Raymond
TE - Musgrave, I. Smith, Henry, Washington

2nd

1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 3 Flex, SF

QB - Carr, Garoppolo, Levis, Trubisky, Darnold, Trask, Wentz, Walker
RB - Robinson, Achane, R. Jones, CEH, Kelley, Mitchell, Mason
WR - Adams, Higgins, Wilson, DJM, Brown, Cooks, Boyd, MVS, R. Moore, Boutte
TE - Kinkaid, Knox, Conklin

I thought Brian Robinson jr looked decent running with 2 holes in his leg last year. I want to see him a year removed from bullets.

Value is fine. You just have to decide what your roster construction for the season will be like. If you feel that Hopkins has a chance to start for you, I don't see a problem, given the 1RB format. But this is likely his last season of meaningful production. I think I'd prefer to wait and add him when I know that he's actually still good.

I think I'm letting the young kid show us what he has after a healthy off season. With such shallow starting requirements I think you have plenty of depth that I'm passing on a 30+ wr and sticking with the youth. You never know if he breaks out you may be able to package him with someone for a upgrade.
