Moving on from Kupp

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Moving on from Kupp

Postby Motay316 » Sun Sep 03, 2023 7:34 am

Team B in signature.

I wish I had done this a couple weeks ago but thinking it may be time to move on from Kupp.

I think I can get a 2024 1st and 3rd for him, with our draft being today I think I can get a deal done. Do you think it’s time to move him or just hold on to him. This is a contending team been to the finals 3 straight seasons with 1 championship.

Thoughts
Team A-1 Pt PPR, 1 Pt per 10yds rec, rushing, 1 Pt 30 yds passing, 6 Pts per TD, 2 pts per tackle
QB-Rodgers, Lawrence, Tannehill
RB-CMC, Henry, Kamara, Patterson, Mattison
WR-Waddle, Lamb, Godwin, Aiyuk, Thomas,
TE-Andrews, Engram, Njoku, Smith Jr., Henry
K-
DL-Leonard, Wilkins, Buckner
LB-Wagner, Werner, Leonard
DB-Buddah Baker, Jamal Adams, Harrison Smith, White

Team B-1 Pt PPR, 1 Pt per 10yds rec, rushing, 1 Pt 30 yds passing, 6 Pts per TD, 2 pts per tackle
QB-A. Richardson, Rodgers, L. Jackson, Love
RB- Conner, McGlaughlin
WR-Chase, Kupp, McLaurin, Aiyuk, Diontae Johnson, Kirk, Dotson
TE-Ferguson, Higbee
K-Blankenship

I’ve never been a fan but the time to move him was after his big season a couple years ago. I’d move him now for a first and third and be relatively happy about it. I think the rams will start a rebuild soon and Stafford and kupp will be two of the first to go
Qb: Hurts, geno Smith
Rb: JT, Gibbs, Montgomery, Roschon, Z. White, Ty Chandler
Wr: AJB, JJ, Chase, waddle, G Wilson
TE: Pitts, Kincaid, Likely, Njoku

2024 1.01, 1.04, 1.05
10 team
9 players kept yearly
Non PPR
Not super flex
Start 1/1/2/1/2 flex
1 point per first down
All tds 6 points

Part of the problem in trading a player like Kupp for picks is the team is going to be good (otherwise why would they want Kupp) and you will make them stronger.

FWIW - I don't think a 1st/3rd is enough for Kupp. His ADP was #14 overall in start-ups last month. Obviously the injury hurts but does it hurt that much? A late first and a third isn't even in the realm. At least shop him some more to see if you can beat this deal.

If you are a contender, hold. The value within a lineup pushing for a title is way more. You may get more in season too if not. An early 1st makes it closer. Late...pass.

I'm ok with the return, but I think you will have a hard time getting that until he returns and plays in a few games. If he's back to posting his old numbers your stuck, trade a stud away if contending while losing out on cashing out on him before he declines. Either way I'm holding him right now.

^This all the way. It's likely a late 1st for Kupp. In this case, I'd rather hold and anticipate a value spike in-season.

And if he ends up a Bill? A Jet? Chiefs?

Late first and a third is pretty meh. Wait til he puts up 10/150 in week 2 and then see his value.

Moving on from Kupp would require a tier down player in addition to a pick.
Tier down player in case.

He's hurt right now. Likely not to play week 1.
I'd hold for him to come back, Stafford to be so happy there is a WR he knows the name of, and Krupp to have a big game.

Trade him then.

Hold. If you’re set on moving on wait until he returns and lights it up like he always does. The return will be much better then.
