Chase trade talks

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Chase trade talks

Postby Gator Sens » Thu Aug 31, 2023 11:03 am

I am currently in trade talks with the Chase manager in my main league.

12 team - start - 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, and 3 flex (non-SF)

Main build
QB: Lawrence, Prescott
RB: Jacobs, Etienne, Stevenson, Dobbins, Brian Robinson Jr
WR: Jefferson, Lamb, Godwin, Jeudy, Ridley
TE: Kittle, Njoku, Okonkwo

I won the title last year so I have not been chasing any deals this offseason.

Talks are:

Give: Jacobs, Etienne or Dobbins + Godwin
Get: Chase

If the deal ends up being Etienne (which seems more likely than Dobbins), it feels like a lot to give and puts a ton of faith in Stevenson and Dobbins. Also really crushes my depth but I then build around: Jefferson, Chase and Lamb long term. Depth does not matter as long as your team stays healthy as I found out last year, but you still want a bit of depth at RB.

Thoughts? Thanks for the insight all.

I think that's a pretty fair offer. That would be a helluva WR trio...
16 team dynasty league, .5 PPR, Yardage (RB/WR/TE) 5pt=50, 10pt=100, QB= need 250 yards before collecting points for yds

QB-Mahomes, Gabbert, Heinecke
RB- Jonathan Taylor, Derrick Henry, CEH, Deon Jackson, Prince, Keaton Mitchell
WR- Ja'Mar Chase, DK Metcalf, Terry McLaurin, Russell Gage, Charlie Jones, Sherfield, Wicks
TE- Mark Andrews, Conklin, Darnell Washington
K- Joesph
DT/DE- Burns, Wilkins, Highsmith, Houston
LB- Foyesade Oluokun, Zaire Franklin, Werner, Logan Wilson
CB/S- Jeremy Chinn, Jalen Pitre, Talanoa Hufanga, Deshon Elliot

I think it is an overpay, but you have to for a Chase. I am having a hard time not jumping on the idea of a WR core of JJ/Lamb and Chase. Move Ridley to help your RB depth issue and enjoy.
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts

Not sure I see the point of getting Chase with Lamb and JJ in tow. The start-1RB requirement makes this easier to swallow, but it is a lot.

Seems very reasonable to me. ETN has fallen, and will continue to fall if Bigsby is who he seems like he is.

Godwin's value is on a straight plummet and will continue with that circus in Tampa unless they somehow land Caleb or Kyler. He will be 28 next year without a qb, 29 before one is 2 years in. I know you like him but I feel like the writing is on the wall. He is a great addition to a contender in deep starting requirements. Kind of a KA lite.

Jacobs is a great asset but like others have said he isn't as valuable in a 1rb league.

Its so much easier to keep plugging in bench/waiver RBs than WRs. I like that 3 wr core and would just pul the trigger on it. I think you could recoup that value in the future if you change your mind.

I'm easily taking this deal. With such shallow starting requirements and then to have JJeff, Chase and Lamb starting each week, yes please.
