How low is too low to trade JT?

Postby PTW32 » Wed Aug 30, 2023 7:38 pm

With the way RBs are being treated in the NFL and dynasty, it feels like a RB's value is heavily based on what the will do this season. (Maybe the top rookies and Breece Hall as exceptions)

Now that we know JT is missing atleast 4 games and has no motivation to be available when we need him in the fantasy playoffs.... how low would you trade him straight up for another running back?

*Vote for ALL the RB's you would accept in return for JT

Another JT thread! Fun!!

I'd consider Pollard.

Maybe Walker.

The full galaxy brain would be Dameon Pierce (but no chance Pierce ever reaches the heights that a bounce-back JT would as an asset - see Saquon last year)

The rest... nahhhhhhh...

I assumed contender. Obviously what type of team matters. I am also taking the view that JT doesn't play this year, so Walker I'd definitely take, as he's young and will produce. Chubb/Ekeler I think have 1 or 2 good years left in them, so if I am contending and JT was my RB1, and I didn't have quite a bit of depth, I'd definitely consider them. I really don't know how many productive years JT has left. Contending teams, you need to strike while the iron is hot, IMO, and at RB, I'd not want to hold a guy who's sitting all year, if I could use him to get me a RB1 on the upcoming season.

Jacobs is a no brainer to me. He's been a RB1 3 seasons in a row, and is only a year older than JT. I'm taking him all day over JT right now. JJ have been undervalued for 3 years, and regardless of what he is on KTC, he's a proven elite FF producer, and not old. I'd also consider Pierce, but I'd want something on top.

Jacobs, Pollard, Chubb, Ekeler are the only ones I'd consider straight up.

But I'm much more likely just to trade my future picks for a stop gap RB if need be.

A true contender would have good depth at RB and not need to sell their stud for missing a few weeks

This is the time to be buying JT, not selling. If I was a contender and not comfortable with JT sitting, I'm not giving much of a discount.

If be fine taking a few of the guys above, but not straight up.

Mine either. I sent Dobbins and a 1st and was rejected without any further discussion from a guy who normally will at least tell me how terrible my offers are.
