Well, we had a chance. Baby steps. OL looks bad vs. a very good HOU DEF. This was way closer than I thought it would be.

somehow, based on EPA -- which is very much a team stat -- Caleb Williams is off to a slower start than Bryce Young was last season

iOL a massive issue

CW: -10.6 and -13.3 Total EPA (-.30 and -.25 EPA/play)
BY: -11.9 and -5.1 Total EPA (-.25 and -.12 EPA/play)

Can't run the ball
can't stop the pass rush
can't hit a covered wr
can't hit a wide open receiver
can't chuck it across the field.
can't not false start

this offense is offensive.

still say they should have taken a tackle at #9 and kicked jones inside.

ghah. gonna be a long season

on the upside... The D is outstanding

Caleb Williams showing promise

By: Ken Kelly Sep 16: 11:27 AM EST

Bears quarterback Caleb Williams completed 23-of-37 passes for 174 yards and two interceptions in a loss against Houston.

Dynasty Analysis

The game line is misleading as Williams routinely made plays with both his arm and his legs in this one. He also looked to be in control of the offense from the start. While his stats leave a lot to be desired at the moment, Williams looks like an NFL quarterback and better days are clearly ahead. He's a strong hold and an even better buy-low for dynasty managers.

Time to smash the ball.

Run some crossing routes..

Get the ball out quick.

Trust the receiver.

Just do it.

Seriously.

I guess there are a couple of ways of looking at this—

POSITIVES

• Caleb ended up playing really well—363 yards passing, 2/2
• Odunze had a big day—6/112/1
• Got Kmet involved, also a nice day—10/97/1
• DJM had a decent day 8/78
• DEF once again kept us in this, and played very well
• It's only week three

NEGATIVE

• OL is very bad
• Run game was bad—IDK what to do with Swift
• Play-calling was bad, got better, but still bad
• Turnovers killed us—2 ints, fumble by CW
• We should have won this game, INDY was bad

So I guess baby steps. I had this as a potential win, and AR tried to give it to us so many times.
Some progress, but some real issues here. Still, it's only week three.
We should have won though.

Thanks, man. All three top WRs are looking very good. If we can improve this OL I think Caleb-to-Rome is going to be a big thing. We missed Keenan Allen today.

If you can't run it. Chuck it.

Keep chucking. Might as well. What's the worst that could happen? You back off the D a step or too

Bears WIN! Not a bad game. DEF is stout. We're making progress.

Totally! We knew the D was this. Once the O gets going we are great. Encouraging Caleb is being a game manager.
