1.07 for Lawrence?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

1.07 for Lawrence?

Postby dcr1984 » Mon Jul 24, 2023 8:19 am

Team 1 in sig.

Very shallow 1 QB league with scoring system favoring rushing qbs and overweighted DST values.

In this setting I was offered:

Give: 1.07 + Eagles DST

Receive: Trevor Lawrence + Trey McBride

Lawrence is likely the most value long term asset. I don’t necessarily need him with Lamar on the roster, and losing Philly DST is a short term downgrade for a contender. But not sure the value of 1.07 in this format either.

Would you take this offer?
Team 1: (20 man rosters)
10 team, negative 0.1 pt per pass, rush, reception. (1 QB / 2 RB / 3 WR / 1 TE / 1 K / 1 DEF)

QB: Jackson, Geno
RB: McCaffrey, Mixon, Ekeler, Foreman, Patterson
WR: Hill, Wilson, Deebo, Allen, Jeudy, Meyers, Zay Jones, OBJ
TE: Hockenson
K: Dicker
Def: SF, Phi, Dallas

2023: 1.07

Team 2: (18 man rosters)
10 team, 0.5 PPR, 6 pt passing TD (1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 2 WR/RB, 1 TE, K, Def)

Qb: Jackson, Cousins, Lance
RB: Taylor, Fournette, Gibson, Patterson, Gaskin, Elijah Mitchell
WR: Jefferson, AJ Brown, DJM, Lamb, Rondale Moore
TE: Kelce
Def: Cin

Team 3:
12 Team PPR SF/1.5 TE Premium (QB-2RB-3WR-2RB/WR/TE flex, 1 superflex)
QB: Jackson, Prescott, Lawrence
RB: Taylor, Swift, Henry, Hall, Patterson, Wilson, Burkhead, Ingram
WR: Adams, Lamb, A-Rob, JuJu, Calloway, Berrios,
TE: Kittle, Gesicki, Gronk, McBride, Hurst, Jonnu
2023: 2nd, 2nd
2024: 3,4

How did Lawrence stack up points wise versus a top 15-20 WR/RB. The 1.07 is not a great pick range this year but this would come down to just how valuable QBs really are in the league even if they score a lot. In my main league, it's a 1 QB format but QBs score big and are very valuable on the market.

For the most part, studs matter the most given our small lineups and rosters. Last year Lawrence was about equal with Herbert and Cousins in PPG. More absolute points than any WR. In general probably more valuable than a low end wr2.

Outsized DST scoring too. SF was about equal to Justin Jefferson and Eagles about equal to Jamarr chase in PPG. Not sure how reliable DST is from year to year but a not insignificant short term loss if you trade away a good DST.

It does not sound like QBs have big value on the market and the DST are highly valued. I love Lawrence, but seems like the value is still with the pick +. Having Jackson plays a large factor too.
