Sam LaPorta vs Michael Mayer

I realize these two have been debated in other threads, but I feel like one single thread here would be appropriate, to discuss these two rookie TEs
Presumably, Laporta definitely has the better offense, but Mayer potentially has more room for targets? After Adams, it’s what - Meyers & Renfrow & Hooper?
If Mayer is as good as advertised, he can at LEAST be the 3rd option in the Vegas passing game, maybe the 2nd fiddle to only Adams. In Detroit, LaPorta isn’t topping ARSB and he may not even beat out Gibbs for targets, if Gibbs is truly the dynamo his backers make him out to be. But LaPorta could still be the 3rd option easily and in fact SHOULD be the 3rd option pretty handily at least for 6 games to start the year.
