Rank these TEs: Freiermuth, Dulcich, Kincaid

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Rank these TEs: Freiermuth, Dulcich, Kincaid

Postby Mr. Wizard » Thu Jul 06, 2023 10:45 am

I've got the latter two, Freiermuth owner is looking to possibly make a move (financial stuff for our league format, wouldn't really affect me) so I'm debating trying to move one of the other two. Would you swap one of Dulcich or Kincaid for Muth, and what would you add to get it done?

All have potential but none are dominate TE's. I would probably hold and see how it plays out with what you have but if you move either, I would rather move Dulcich.

Freiermuth is okay but just another up and down TE on a bad offense.

Probably higher on Kincaid than most but I would rank him over the other two. From there, I'd say Muth and Dulcich are a near wash, maybe slight lean to Muth. I'd probably stay pat as the Muth owner will likely make you add something to Dulcich to get it done which I would not want to do.

I would definitely swap dulcich for him if it’s cheap, obviously depends on the cost.

I want Kincaid over the other two. Does that answer your question?

With TEs in fantasy, it's all about the situation (offensive scheme). Talent is there with all 3 guys, but who will get that all important % of targets? Since we've already seen Muth and Dulcich, I'd lean Kincaid; not because he's better than the other two, but purely on the possible upside of him being featured in the slot for Buffalo.

I clearly am higher on Freiermuth than most. He's proven to be a solid player from the word go at a position that usually requires a ton of development winning in year one on TDs and yesr two on yards. I'm cautiously optimistic he puts ot all together in year 3.

We too often dream of the upside of the unknown vs. the production we know. Kincaid has tons of upside but I'm a fan of what I've seen on an NFL field from Muth so I'd rank him just behind. Dulcich is a distant 3rd on this list despite showing flashes in his rookie season for me.

Kincaid has 1st round fantasy value. No chance I would move him for those other players. I imagine him being utilized like Kelce as he develops.

The others are close in value but I do like Dulcich’s route running
The Clock is Running and there are no Timeouts

See my post above. I am a Steeler fan, and love Muth. Objectively, however, the Steelers offense will never feature the position to the extent needed for Muth to become a true difference-maker in dynasty. It's just don't see it happening... He'll be solid, but what's the value of "solid" in fantasy, if he's not one of the 5 TEs that you can count on for at least WR2 points each week?

I prefer Freiermuth's consistency to most of the other TEs outside the top 5. He's a consistent part of the offense, and unlike most after the top 5 doesn't rely on TDs (those help provide spike weeks, but he's consistently getting enough targets and yards to produce TE1 numbers, e.g. top 12 most weeks even with only 2 TDs last year). We can all see end of year stats and say X player scored the same amount of points or close to Y, but often times that is inflated by a few big games, that's not the case with him. And, if he can produce the yards and targets from 2022 but his TDs from 2021, pull it all together in year 3, we may in fact have our next top 5 TE. I'd rather project him doing something I've seen him do in the NFL in two separate years than projecting an immediate return on investment in spending a 1st on Kincaid personally.

no.

freiermuth is at the bottom of the list, because we've seen more of him than the others and he hasn't looked like a top 6 TE, so i'd roll with the others in the hope they hit a higher ceiling.

freiermuth is "solid", no doubt, but i'm not interested in "solid" for TEs, there's too many of them.

I’d rank them

Kincaid
Dulcich
Freiermuth

So no I wouldn’t look to make a move for Freiermuth.
