C Watson for G Wilson

Postby TheTroll » Thu Jun 15, 2023 12:14 am

I’m thinking of offering a deal to try and snag Garrett Wilson. If I would be offering C Watson, what would I need to add to make this enticing for the Wilson owner? I know this owner love Pitts so maybe something like this?

Give: C Watson + Pitts

Get: Wilson + Hock

I’m open to other ways to add to Watson (even without Pitts) to bridge the gap to get Wilson…even with a future pick
Team 1
Dynasty 10 team, 22 roster + 6 Taxi, PPR
1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 Flex, 1 TE, K, Def

QB: Love, Goff, Fields
RB: Bijan, Montgomery, Kamara, Ford, K Herbert, Zeke, Mattison
WR: Jefferson, Olave, London, Ridley, Sutton, Shaheed
TE: Kincaid, Kittle, Freiermuth
K: Tucker, Sanders
DEF: CLE

Taxi: Charbs, K Mitchell, Demercado, QJ, D Douglas, W Robinson, Hooker

Picks
2024: 1.03, 3.06, 3.09, 4.09
2025: 2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 5
2026: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Team 2
Dynasty 10 team, 22 man roster + 6 Taxi, PPR, SF and TEP
1QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 S Flex

QB: Allen, Goff, Watson, Jones
RB: K Williams, B Robinson, Chubb, Ford, Mostert, A Gibson, Dillon, Pierce, Zeke
WR: Olave, T Hill, Addison, D Adams, C Watson, D Johnson, G Davis, OBJ
TE: Kincaid, Kmet, Goedert

Taxi: Willis, DTR, Mims, K Miller, Demercado, Vaughn

Picks

If the guy is in love with Pitts, this may have a chance; but I think asking for Hock back is a bit too much. Realistically speaking, Hock is the better TE, and Wilson is the better WR; pretty rough deal for the other guy. Since you have Goedert, maybe you can ask for a smaller piece back.

It's hard to put together a trade w/o knowing the other team's roster and whether they think they can contend.

FWIW - I own Wilson and you'd have to add quite a bit to Watson to get me to even consider the deal. As crazy as this sounds, I can see scenarios where selling Wilson right now is selling low. I think it's in the realm of possibilities that Wilson is the top producing WR in PPR this season. A bold claim for sure and I'm not predicting it. But it's not impossible - if A.Rod isn't washed up and locks in on Wilson, "the ceiling is the roof".

The deal you are suggesting would be an immediate reject. I guess I'd have to consider it w/o Hock but I'd probably reject that too in non-TEP. I wouldn't see Pitts as helping my line-up all that much. But maybe different if I was rebuilding.

Going to be a pretty tough sell. Looks like he has a solid roster with G Wilson as his WR3. The only thing you can really do for him is a QB upgrade (but would you really want to trade Allen?).

With including Pitts option - the thing is, most of his owners value him as the unquestioned TE1, but his non owners aren't paying anything close to TE1 prices to acquire him.

Watson+Pitts straight up for Wilson is probably what it would take. If you expect him to include Hock too, you prob need to add a 1st to your side.

These might all make him consider...

Watson, DJM, Pitts for
Wilson, Hock

Or

Watson, Pitts, 1st for
Wilson, Hock

Or

Watson, Pitts for
Wilson

Could maybe even try just throwing all your picks on top of Watson to get it done. Watson + 1st, 2nd maybe.

As the original offer stands, its Wilson + very easily and not close. If you can get it done, it's a great move but I would expect a quick decline.

As CGW mentioned, the deal with the 1st added may have a shot, but even that is probably light. Watson's numbers were carried by TD's and hard to see that happening with Love.

Ya tough to say what it would take but think you need a better opening offer. Problem is you’re buying at a tough time when Wilson is very hard to acquire.
Think you’d need at least a 1st round value on top of Watson.
