Tank "The Tank" Bigsby
I referred to Etienne's risk in his thread, and we've got some good posts about Bigsby in a rookie RB thread. But, I wanted Tank to get his due (value) respect with his own thread. Had several drafts shortly after the NFL one and was able to repeatedly get him late 2nd to mid 3rd.
I won't cite all the stats out there, but Etienne hasn't been the receiving threat he was billed as a prospect (despite staying an extra year at college to try to hone that), Etienne has struggled in the red zone in the NFL, and Bigsby performed well behind a struggling college oline. The opportunity and talent certainly appeared there, but then we began getting hit with a steady drumbeat of camp talk. The most recent is that Bigsby could get more touches any given game if he has the hot hand. Anyone familiar with the history of the HC and RB coach wouldn't be surprised by all this.
This isn't an argument against Etienne but that Bigsby can seize so much snap/touch volume based on his practice and gameday performance to be a real fantasy player returning major value, especially in RB premium leagues.

While I hope your right, as I roster him, they aren't even in pads yet, so I can't buy into hype. ETN is a first round RB and had a really good first full year last year. I can't see Bigsby being a real FF difference maker without ETN missing time.

Tank “The Tank”?
I liked Bigsby predraft and he landed in a great for his strengths. He can do a lot of the heavy lifting between the tackles, which in turn should give Etienne more opportunity to operate in space, That’s a win-win IMO that should benefit both of them.

Re: Tank "The Tank" Bigsby
I really like Tank. He’s the complete package, but I don’t expect him to blow the doors off early. To me, his biggest issues were pass protection and patience. I’m not sure either of those are going to show at this point in the year and I’m not sure he’ll have them fixed to open the season.

I've said my piece(s) in the other thread, but can be summoned here if needed.

My enthusiasm for Bigsby have nothing to do with anything that's happened in practice, and everything to do with-FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 5:27 pm While I hope your right, as I roster him, they aren't even in pads yet, so I can't buy into hype. What Etienne has shown in the NFL (very limited receiving work, poor red zone conversion rate).
What Bigsby's profile indicates as strengths and how they mesh with what Etienne showed so far.
That the talk about the Jacksonville backfield could be interpreted as the coaching staff recognizing how Bigsby and Etienne can tandem together.
I'm not arguing that Bigsby *will* overtake Etienne, though those arguments are being made. I've seen the claim that Bigsby's a better receiver than Etienne, but haven't seen data to back that up yet. If Bigsby were to take 3rd down and goal line work, that strong floor would pair well with the potential for "hot hand" touches providing a volume based ceiling any game.
Bigsby's a great dynasty draft value- if Charbonnet gets an NFL coach that likes to run but lands behind a top tier RB and still gets drafted at the end of the first, how does Bigsby get a similar situation/opportunity but go a full round later?
I don't want to focus too heavily on situation, to the point we ignore the talent. Lumps has thrown out good stats, and I could scrounge up some more.
Yep, that Dell guy got so much run he almost took the Tank name. A 160 lb WR doesn't deserve "Tank". Maybe Tank "Big Tank" Bigsby works better, incorporating the last name and throwin shade at Dell.Bronco Billy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 5:28 pm Tank “The Tank”?

Your description of the touch split sounds like Etienne would get relegated to a secondary role.

Re: Tank "The Tank" Bigsby
That would depend upon the ability of the “secondary” guy and the creativity of the offensive coordinator. Kamara did just fine as a FF asset in a “secondary” role.Pullo Vision wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 4:53 am

Re: Tank "The Tank" Bigsby
I just came here to say "Tank "The Tank" Bigsby" is a top 10 thread title all time. Well done.
Well, that and a shameless related question:
For team in signature (including Etienne), is overall pick #15 too early for Tank The Tank (T3)? I'm assuming he'd be long gone by the time I'd pick again at #31 overall. So it's probably 1st rounder or never for me?
Edit: I seem to already roster a few JAX RBs. If that makes a difference or not.

Re: Tank "The Tank" Bigsby
Depends who else is there. 15 feels like a reach to me and I wouldn't be more inclined to get him just because I had ETNPaul717 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 5:55 am I just came here to say "Tank "The Tank" Bigsby" is a top 10 thread title all time. Well done.

Admit it, you laughed out loud too when you read it.
It immediately made me think of "Old School", not sure if that was OP's intention or not.

Re: Tank "The Tank" Bigsby
Others may disagree, but if this is not SF, I don't see an issue with it. Some may prefer others in the area of that pick, but I'd probably argue they are similar in terms of outlook. https://mizelle.net/mfl/2023/rookies/Paul717 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 5:55 am I just came here to say "Tank "The Tank" Bigsby" is a top 10 thread title all time. I'm happy I don't have to re-post the same stuff I was saying in the other thread. I'll just cheer for you here.
Re: Tank "The Tank" Bigsby
Could you trade down? Assuming you’d be okay with other options if he’s sniped from you, I’d move down before taking him at 15Paul717 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 5:55 am I just came here to say "Tank "The Tank" Bigsby" is a top 10 thread title all time. Well done.

Re: Tank "The Tank" Bigsby
Bigsby rated nation's top back
Bigsby was born in Atlanta and was a five-star running back at Hogansville Callaway where he rushed for 3,857 yards and 49 touchdowns in his last two seasons. He gained 2,221 yards and scored 22 times as a junior and was ranked seventh among all Georgia recruits in 2019 by 247Sports and the nation's top running back by Rivals.
Bigsby selected Auburn over Georgia, LSU and South Carolina.
He also remembers watching a Cartersville High quarterback named Trevor Lawrence — one of his new Jaguars teammates.
“I saw him playing in person … amazing,” he said.
Bigsby was named the SEC freshman of the year in 2020 when he gained 834 yards and scored five touchdowns. He had the first of his 13 career 100-yard games with 146 vs. Georgia and finished the season with 192 yards against Mississippi State.
Bigsby gained 1,099 yards and scored 10 touchdowns in 2021 and had 970 yards and 10 scores last season.
He wore out Conner's Ole Miss team. In three games against the Rebels, Bigsby gained 448 yards and scored five touchdowns, averaging 149.3 yards per game and 6.7 yards per carry.
Per ESPN Stats & Info, Bigsby's yards before contact per rush ranked 90th out of 111 players with at least 300 rushes, but his yards after contact per rush over that span ranked 13th
ETN had a 74% carry share of the offense last year, that even started with Robinson there. So post Robinson, that share is even higher. Doug Peterson has said they don't want that again. Bigsby is a threat to his carry share for sure. ETN has a 7% target share and you could argue Bigsby had a better receiving career in college on some bad Auburn offenses.
Here is a nice discussion on ETN/Bigsby and how the situation is more akin to Walker/Charb than people are giving credit:
