Jordan Love v Kenny Pickett

Postby JoshuaGordon_9 » Tue May 02, 2023 12:40 am

Got an offer of Love for my Pickett. I dont see a huge difference in these two, as they're both probably mid to low end QB2s. What say you?

QB(1-2) Herbert, Tua
WR(3-5) AJB, Adams, Sutton, Boyd, Bourne, Wicks
RB(2-4) JT, Kyren, Swift, Singletary, Moss, Ford Dobbins, Tucker

3.06, 3.09

Team 2: 12T PPR, TE premium, SF
QB(1-2) Cousins, Love, Tanny, Trask, McCoy, Zappe
WR(2-6) Lamb, Olave, Hollywood, Godwin, JaMo, Sutton, Diontae, Lazard, McKensie
RB(2-6) ETN, A. Jones, Dillon, Hunt, Moss, K. Miller, S. Tucker
TE(1-5) Hock, Brock Wright, Everett

Team 3: 12T PPR SF TE Prem
QB(1-2) Fields, Young, Darnold, Trask, Dalton
WR(1-6) AJB, Pittman, Hollywood, Sutton, M. Williams, Davis, Meyers, Van Jefferson, Sheperd, McKensie
RB(1-6) Jacobs, Sanders, Akers, Hunt, T. Spears, C. Brown

I agree. Feels like a coin flip. Pickett has better weapons around him and PIT made some efforts to improve the horrible o-line. Feels like there is more variance in what people think about Love. Some like him, some don't. Most likely scenario is neither of them is better than a QB2 in 2023.

Pickett for me, at least he is a starter for probably 3-4 more years. Love could bust and not have his option picked up if he does not do well this year. Pickett if you are conservative, Love if you want to close your eyes and swing for the fences.

Love more risky but probably higher fantasy upside. Seems like a coin flip like others said. Not sure I agree pickett has 3 years of safety baked in but likely has a longer leash than Love.

Really close one here. I feel like Pickett is a little bit safer and more secure in his job and has better weapons. But I think Jordan Love offers more upside with his rocket arm and mobility. It'll be interesting to watch both this year.

I like Jordan Love a bit more at the moment but it's just a gut feeling.

Preference deal here. I like Pittsburghs weapons more but that does not mean Pickett can get it to them consistently. Could go either way and there is very little value difference but Love may be the more exciting name on the market I suppose?

Tough one. Pickett is safer and has way more experience, but I don't see a ton of fantasy upside with him. Love, on the other hand has no guarantee he will be the QB in 2024, but has much higher fantasy upside with a better arm and mobility.

I think team makeup matters a lot here. If I had the luxury of two quality starters already, I'd happily gamble on the upside of Love. If I was depending on one of these guys as a starter to compete (would you really be a contender then???) then I'd lean towards Pickett.

In a rebuild - probably lean Love just for upside. If he hits he's worth significantly more than if Pickett hits.

Similar value. I think even the same age? Go with your gut.
12 team. PPR. QB pass td = 6
Starters: QB(1) FLEX (RB/WR/TE)(2) RB(2) WR(3) TE(1)

QB: AR, DJones
RB: Gibby, Charb, KMiller, Akers
WR: Chase, Lamb, G Wilson, Tank Dell, Burks, Mimsy, Tutu, W Robinson, Tucker, Wicks, RBell
TE: DNjoku, Hunter Henry

Draft Picks: 2024: 1.2, 1.5, 1.11. 2025: 1st Round (2) 2nd Round (1), 2026: 1st Round (1) 2nd Round (2)

Pickett based on the eyeball test. I liked what I saw when I watched him play last year. What little I’ve watched of Jordan Love looked really bad
12 Team Superflex Best Ball PPR TEP +1.5
QB: Lawrence, Kyler Murray, O’Connell
RB: Gibbs, Etienne, Javonte Williams, Chase Brown
WR: London, Tank Dell, Pickens JSN, Michael Wilson, Quentin Johnston
TE: McBride, Dulcich

I guess keep Pickett. You don’t have the qb depth to swing for the fences.

11 starters - QB, RB(2) WR(3) TE, SF, Flex(3)

Stroud, Kyler, Bryce Young, Anthony Richardson, Minshew, Trey Lance, Dalton l, Mike White

Breece, Achane, AJ Dillon, Justice Hill, Evan Hull, Chris Rodgriquez

Chase, Lamb, Waddle, Olave, London Drake, Demario Davis, Jake Bobo

Kyle Pitts, Mark Andrews, Kincaid, Schoonmaker

24 picks - 1x2, 3,4,5

Team 2-
12 man SF, .25ppc, .5ppr rbs, 1 ppr wr, 1.5 ppr TE

Joe Burrow, Trevor Lawerence, Jake Haehner, Jake Browning

JT, Kendre Miller,, K Ingram, Ty Chandler, Michael Carter, Kenny Macintosh, Sean Tucker

Puka, Rondale, Mooney, Wan’dale, Terrace Marshall, DPJ, Justyn Ross, Xavier Hutchinson,

Well it's team two in my signature. QBs in our league are brutally expensive, and I cruised to the championship game last year riding pretty much Cousins, and lost by 2 points.

Appreciate the input

Pickett has more value imo so if you don’t care ask for a 2nd back as well.

That's a good point, if he's coming to you, see if you can get a pick thrown in. These guys are are pretty much neck and neck.
