WR Target Advice

Postby DLF3000 » Sun Apr 30, 2023 6:00 am

Need WR target advice. WR (and probably TE now too, thanks Bills) is my weakest position. Still made the playoffs first two years of this league, but it's year 3 and WR is a huge problem after a couple of busts there.

Been trying to move something like Jones, Mitchell and Claypool but not seeing enough interest or value back.

Was looking at Ridley or Kirk (though not Zay Jones) - but that's the problem, no idea which Jag WR is the better pick up.

That said most folks want picks in exchange in addition or instead of players, but I've already burned this year's and next year's so not super excited about trading any of my '25 picks unless it's somebody really solid. So I feel like I'm stuck.

Any other ideas? On Jags WR targets or any good WR targets for some combination of Jones, Mitchell, Claypool or '25 picks?

Ridley is a hot name this offseason so Kirk may be more affordable surprisingly between the too. Other potential productive and affordable WRs would be: Allen, Lockett, Cooks, Hopkins and McLaurin. All are older but I think aging vets that put up numbers are your best hope with having limited capital to move. All of these options are probably only appealing if you are contending though.

Thanks, that's helpful - there's a team that has both Kirk and McLaurin that could use RB help. Going to see if we can work something out.

Why not move Ekeler, Barkley, or Taylor for a WR?

I would probably avoid the Jacksonville receivers

Well, I can start up to 4 RB (2 normal flex), so ultimately a 1-for-1 RB/WR stud swap won't really help. I typically start 2QB (SF), 4 RB (2 RB min), 4 WR (min), and 2 TE (min).

That's why I'm looking to trade my my high-end RB depth/additional flex RBs and maybe mid-level WR in a package for a low-end starting WR.

My RBs and QBs carried me into the playoffs the first two years, but it's getting tough only working from the bargain bin at WR (and to some extent, at TE too). My WR busts were brutal, so here I am garbage-sifting and bargain shopping at WR (and a bit at TE) till the '25 draft. :problem: Ah well, best way out is through, right?
