Re: Rating Bijan, Poll
Elite I definitely agree with but I just feel generational gets tossed around way too loosely as every other or third year there's a new generational wr/rb and I don't feel he quite meets my threshold to get that title(ap, LT, Barkley)
Re: Rating Bijan, Poll
Barkley was a “generational RB” but he has been just good. I’m not using the team again unless it is on a vet who has proven it

Re: Rating Bijan, Poll
Generational is kinda hard to prove or say until after fact, just because he has talent/tools does not make them generational, they must actually preform like one. When I think generational I see Barry Sanders, Emmit smith, AP, LT. Marshal faulk,Walter payton, Jim brown,Chris Johnson, Eric Dickerson( a few I may have missed) . I cannot say we have had too many generational players as of late cause most of those guys play more than 4/5 years with high production through out. The term is for sure thrown out way too much and has been watered down.

Re: Rating Bijan, Poll
Every year or two players are tagged as generational talents. There is a much less than 40% hit rate on that generational prospect becoming a generational pro player. And every year there are players way down the scouting report who actually become very good or great fantasy players. It is very rare these days that I prematurely tag an incoming rookie as generational.
I think Bijan is guaranteed (for lack of a better word) to be a starting RB in the NFL who should be a T16RB for fantasy. No way to know if he'll be overall fantasy RB4 or RB16 or even lower. No one knows. And the only guy I'll believe when he says he knows for certain better show me a string of 5 consecutive fantasy championships in 5 leagues for the past 5 years to prove he always gets it right. Otherwise, we're all just guessing.
But, I like Bijan's odds better than I've liked any RB since Barkley. But I don't like Bijan's odds better than I liked Barkley. And depending on who drafts Bijan, I may not like his odds better than I liked Najee's odds for a fantasy relevant first 3 seasons when he was coming out.
This year, yeah I'd draft Bijan 1st in 1QB. No question about that. But I don't necessarily have any greater certainty that he'll be a T16RB than I do for the top RB prospects almost every season. The NFL is so much more advanced than NCAA anything could happen.

Re: Rating Bijan, Poll
We really should just put the word "generational" away. Technically, it means something that will only happen every 20-30 years. it's a guarantee that there will be other RBs as good as Bijan in the next 5, 10, 15, and 20 years
Bijan is an elite RB prospect. Nothing more, nothing less.

With RB careers so short, I can see using the term every 3-5 years or so.Cameron Giles wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 1:34 pm We really should just put the word "generational" away. Re: Rating Bijan, Poll
Dynasty RB1 overall already imo just due to the nature of the position and the fact RBs are at their most productive and valuable at the start of their career. Maybe he never actually has an RB1 overall season, but he's as good a bet as any RB to be able to do so and I'm very confident he will be a high quality starter at minimum in fantasy barring injury, which all RBs are at risk of.
Re: Rating Bijan, Poll
Think I will wait a bit until I see him test. He doesn't look very fast at all. He does look to have good 1st step quickness but everyone can run at the NFL level.
Starter for sure; Very Good, most likely, Elite; time will tell.
Generational, Highly Unlikely.

Re: Rating Bijan, Poll
It depends on whether you’re looking at it from the perspective of a fan or player. 20-30 years only makes sense from the persective of the fan in the “He’s the greatest player I ever saw play” sort of idea. The player perspective is probably more like greatest I ever played against in which case you’re probably looking at a ten year window (yes, average career is much lower, but no one is asking the backups who the best guy they played against was). Sometimes I think you can have multiple guys at a time as well. I’d be hard pressed to declare Emmitt Smith or Barry Sanders not generational.Cameron Giles wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 1:34 pm We really should just put the word "generational" away. I didn’t read all this but I for one think we need about 15 more threads with Bijan in the title.
