This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Waddle price check

Postby MFundercover » Fri Jan 06, 2023 1:32 pm

Guy just put him OTB in my league, says hesblooking for 1st rounders. Its 12 team super flex.

I have the 1.06 but that feels light?

The 1.06 feels very light even in a 12 team SF format. For me, Waddle s worth an early 1st + in any format. Seems like the 1.06 + D. Smith may have a chance but this could depend heavily manager to manager.

The 1.06 probably represents a young stud WR. With JSN or Johnson likely on the board at 6 I definitely wouldn't include Smith on top of that. Smith wasnt far behind Waddle this season in terms of production.

Guess I'll just hold

Going to be a conflicting time of year especially with draft season approaching.

I love this class and I’m a big fan of a lot of players, especially the top WRs. However Waddle is a consensus top 10 dynasty WR (probably higher) and the hope is that whoever you take at 1.06 even sniffs that.

If I had Waddle I’d want something more on top of the 1.06

The 1.06 just doesnt sound like a lot, though in this draft it probably represents a top 12 dynasty wr.

I probably wouldn't even add my 2nd on top of Smith for Waddle. Their production was pretty similar this year.

I think adding Smith to 1.06 is a tad rich for my blood, but you’d have to add to the 1.06 for Waddle.

The WR landscape in dynasty is so saturated with young upside guys alongside elite vets that for a rookie to break into the top 12 is a tough feat.

Again I love the likes of JSN, Quinton Johnston et al but you’re hoping they turn into what Waddle offers you (unless you genuinely believe they can be better?)

If they turn in to Waddles production they will certainly be more valuable given the age difference.

No doubt about it, if they manage to produce like Waddle in their rookie year they will vault him in value but the big caveat is “IF”. The likelihood of one of them doing it in their rookie year is unlikely. Over the last three years only 3 rookies have finished in the top 12 WR, JJ, Chase and Waddle himself.

But Waddle is 24

No one is trading a top 12 WR for a chance at one. Age isnt a factor here.

Bijan>Waddle>1.02. I also would not pay Smith+1 for Waddle though so we agree there

As someone with a couple shares of waddle I'd need two firsts, one 1.02-1.05 the other 1.07-1.10ish (or a 24 1st).

Waddle is a perfect wr to build around. Any single pick you're hoping to just break even by finding another waddle. So that means it's gonna take atleast 2 to make the move for me. Additionally if I'm making that trade right now, I'd want the picks on the earlier end. If it's on the clock during rookie draft I'm likely willing to take later ones provided that my wr targets are there.

Smith and waddle have always been close for me. Maybe the first half of this year I was feeling worse about Smith, but second half he has really clicked. I think he's still underrated and is a player I'm looking to add in all leagues.

I wouldn't trade Waddle straight up for the 1.02 let alone the 1.06.

I won't be surprised to see this thread age poorly 2 months in to next season. The 1.06 in super flex most likely represents the top wr in this draft class.

I like Waddle as much as anybody but I also really believe in the top WR talent of this draft. If/when they pop off back to back 20 point games in season, everyone will be clamoring to trade their Waddle for them. While he deserves to be ranked ahead of the top rookies, I dont see it as a huge difference.

Also the more I think of it, while I would still take Waddle over Smith in a startup I have them basically even.

Looks like I'm nowhere near what the dynasty community think as usual.

I can't see the justification that 1.6 right there with waddle. Even with these being good prospects you cant hope for more than olave or Wilson did this year which was already an anomaly, and if we look at those two I don't know anyone who would swap waddle to them?

Waddle is going into year three so still very young and has already put up a wr 13 and a wr 7. Swapping him to one of these rookies is just hoping for what JJ or chase I don't see how that's a good idea
