What do you need in what should be a high scoring MNF game?!

Postby joeday » Mon Jan 02, 2023 12:41 pm

What a crazy big time game to end championship week on!!! I am in 12 finals and 10 of them are coming down to tonight (kinda).

Rapid City Monuments (ppr): -21.90 with no players vs. no players (Obviously nothing to see here. I was in a rebuild that randomly got hot at the right time. If Garrett Wilson and Minshew live up to their week 17 expectations I have a chance to win it but it didn't happen)

Beefsquatch (sf/ppr): +34.95 with no players vs. Josh Allen, Tyler Boyd (My opponent and I ended up chopping this pot so considering everything else I need this week, I kinda hope he blows me out! Minshew and TLaw both let me down in this one)

Kuchi Kopi (ppr): -31.40 with Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase vs. no players (Had this one pretty wrapped up until Aiyuk went off on the last drive of the 4th quarter...right around 10 points in that one drive...still feel good but will have to watch the whole game haha. JJ and Waddle combining for 10 points hurts)

BURGER BOSS (ppr): -15.50 with Josh Allen vs. no players (Was a big dog in this one but Cooper and Godwin exceeded expectations and my opponent had TLaw and JJ. Hopefully Allen doesn't have his worst game of the year this week)

Boyz4Now (sf/ppr): +67.95 with Tyler Bass vs. Joe Burrow, Tee Higgins, Bengals D/ST (Assuming Bass and the Bengals cancel each other out, he would need a massive game from Burrow and Higgins)

Mr. Jim Business (ppr): -9.05 with no players vs. no players (My opponent and I chopped this pot too...usually when I chop pots I win that league but this year in the 3 leagues I chopped I ended up losing so that's good? haha. JJ, Butker, and the 9ers D combined for 6.5 which did me in)

Kegel the Elf (ppr): +4.75 with Stefon Diggs vs. Joe Mixon, Gabe Davis (I need an old school Diggs night to have a chance. Played Butker over Tucker and played Zeke over Chubb. Oh, and Mike Evans was on my bench haha. This league I usually have really bad luck with but this season the games I would usually lose by 1 I've been winning by 1 so maybe I have a chance!)

Equestranauts (ppr): +8.75 with no players vs. Stefon Diggs (Last of the chop pot losses. I was a MASSIVE favorite in this league. Ironically my opponents team name is Dreamkiller and also, ironically, they've beaten in the finals twice when I was a big favorite. I didn't listen to my gut and bench TLaw for Brady and it will likely cost me)

One Eyed Snakes (ppr): -22.40 with Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs vs. no players (If I lose this game I may quit fantasy football lol)

Sacred Cows (ppr): +16.00 with Joe Burrow vs. Tee Higgins (If I was tied going into tonight I would be very concerned but with the 16 point buffer I should be good)

Bleaken Hunters (sf/ppr): -66.15 with Josh Allen, Ja'Marr Chase vs. no players (boy oh boy did I make some bad choices here...played Mike White over my boy Kenny Heisman, which cost me 3.6 points...played D'Onta over Jamaal Williams, which cost me 21.20 points. I would only need 42 points out of Diggs and Allen if I did that)

Mr. McGibblets (non ppr): +17.30 with Joe Mixon vs. Tee Higgins, Evan McPherson (Was a big dog going into this week and made a bad decision by playing Garrett Wilson over Chris Godwin but Davante Adams dragged me close to the finish line. With it being non ppr I have a chance to hold on by a kicker always scares me...it is so random)

Alright, those are all mine...couple of bad lineup decisions keeping me from a really big week but I am guessing I should go 4-8 to 6-6...not great, but we all know the playoffs and final are always crap shoots. What are you folks looking for and what lineup decisions or poor play may cost you?

One of my two title games is wrapped up. I have a 12-point lead and my opponent has only a LB. I have 4 players including Chase+Singletary.

The other is much more precarious. I have a 23-point lead in a league with a scoring system that makes that like a 45-point lead in most leagues. But my opponent has Burrow+Mixon+Gabe. What I need is for Gabe to be Gabe and get 2 catches for 33 yards, which is not much to ask. But I also need the BUF defense to lock down the Cincy offense. What I'm hoping for is a 17-16 game where Burrow throws 2 INTs.

&&**%*#$#*# Kirk Cousins! :x
I never would have done it, but if I'd started Mac over Cousins I would have a championship locked up. Now I have to sweat it out.

I only have one championship that has teams with players involved tonight. 4 team 2 week (this is week 2) all play for championship, top 3 get money. (Team #2 in signature, ppr, 4 pts/pass TD)

I am done and currently leading in points.

Opponent #1 has: Singletary & buffalo DST, down by 19 points
Opponent #2 has: Burrow & Diggs, down by 46 points
Opponent #3 has: Allen, down by 55 points

Feel like I will atleast be third. Best chance to take first would be for both diggs and singletary to be shut down.

On the plus side assuming I take atleast 3rd, I'll be free rolling this year. Bumping up to 2nd or 1st will be net positives throughout all my leagues.

Honestly I love it. It's how FFPC does their playoffs

Week #15 seeds 3-6 do all play, top 2 advance, weeks 16&17 its the remaining 4 seeds play.

The only complaint I have is that teams that get the byes (top 2 seeds) automatically make the 2 week finals, which seems sometimes to be too much of an advantage.

Nothing.
I look forward to watching tonight's game, as Bills/Bengals could be one of the best games of 2022 season.

However, after going 0-5 in week 16, week 17 games mean nothing to me.

Well, after starting Gabe Davis over Mike Evans, I need a good game from Davis. I am up pts with Davis, but going against Josh Allen tonight.

I like that FFPC format.

In the title game for the league in my sig, I have a 51 pt lead + Tremaine Edmunds, and my opponent has Josh Allen.
For perspective, the highest scoring week for a qb in our league was Michael Vick with 43 back in 2010 week 10. Highest score ever was Kamara in 2020 with 47.
Allen's highest score in our league was 35 back in 2018.

I'm feeling mildly optimistic that the title is mine.

I have such a fun scenario in the league I care most about on FFPC.

Down 36.65 with Burrow, Chase, and Gabe Davis against Diggs. Projection is dead even.

It’s a highly entertaining real life game tonight, have guys on both sides of the ball so constantly have something to root for, in a league I just went through a 3 year total rebuild that I wasn’t even expecting to compete for the ship until next year. Also, same league, have the 1st that will be Bijan IF Dawson Knox doesn’t hit 11 points.

It’s been a great season, have already locked up 3/5 titles. Got a really good shot in the 4th one. And this super close matchup in a league I’ve invested so much time and energy into. Built a monster that is just missing RBs and sitting on either 1.01/1.02 plus my own 1st next year. Been starting Patterson, Foreman, and streamers all year. Probably made 50 trades over the last 3 years to build it from an old, totally faded roster in a league with three legit super teams.

Burrow/Herbert
Jefferson/Chase/Lamb/McLaurin/Gabe
Hockenson/Pitts
1.1 and 1.12 hopefully?

Literally never looked forward to a game for purely fantasy reasons as much of this one. If I can pull it out I will go 4/4 in my dynasty leagues (with a 3peat locked up)and 1/3 in redraft. It’s taken so much patience to stick to the plan and not chase RBs this year. No matter what happens it’s just a fun as hell night for me. I’m such a nerd LOL. Can’t draw up a better scenario this is what I play for.

Down 6: Half PPR and I have Dawson Knox (had I started Taysom would have already won). I’m scared

Game is now postponed but I am down ~120 points with Allen, Diggs, Chase, and Mixon going. I also have a LB going and my opponent only has one LB left to go. So I was hoping for a really high scoring shoot out, my only chance to come back.
I was the winner last year and had the best record and highest scoring team of the season. JJ with one catch and my 2 DL (D hunter and N Bosa) somehow combined getting 2 points really hurt me this week.
