Week 17: Etienne VS Singletary VS Pacheco VS WR

Team 1 in my signature had advanced to next week's championship game. As I'm sitting on three Top10WRs (for 2022 so far) for scoring in this league, I'm expecting to make another push in 2023 if Henry has one more stud season in him. But first things first, it's likely I will have to defeat the third-highest scoring team in the league next week to win the championship. He has Mahomes+Chubb+Kelce+Tyreek so there's no room for error in choosing my lineup.

In one sense, this shouldn't be a difficult choice. I haven't started Singletary in the last few weeks unless byes/injuries forced me to. Further, in week 17 Etienne is playing against the sloppy Houston defense. But, as he did in 2021, Singletary appears to be getting hot at the end of the regular season. Also, I thought I was going to be locked into Pacheco as a starter now that he's receiving a healthy dose of touches, but McKinnon is getting stronger and KC plays Denver in week 17.

I need six players between RB/WR to fill my positions+flex. No-Doubt-Locks are Henry+Chase+Lamb+Waddle. That leaves two spots open. Vote for two.

Etienne and Singletary or G. Davis.

Congratulations on making it to the title and good luck!

I think I'm leaning toward Etienne+Singletary. I think.

It's out there but I think I'd go Singletary

Check out his splits when the Bills play close games vs when they don't. He is far more productive in the former and usually startable

Worst talent here but I'd lean him. Pacheco a close 2nd because I think the Chiefs will be up

In the dead of the offseason, I thought this Player Debate was worth an update.

I reported earlier in another thread that I won the championship game. As it turned out, Henry was kept out of the game by TENN so while I was not at all happy Henry was missing the game, his absence made it easier to choose my starters. With the Henry news and needing to fill three spots, I really wanted to put Hollywood in the lineup. I ended up starting Etienne, Pacheco and Singletary.

This is how they scored in this league in week 17.
Etienne: 26.33 (108RuYds, 3rec/32yds, 1TD)
Pacheco: 12.9 (31RuYds, 2rec/18yds, 1TD)
Singletary: 0.3 (3yds)
Hollywood: 12.1 (6rec/61yds)

Hindsight is 20/20 and I was left wondering why I ever considered starting Singletary over "my guy" Hollywood. I've had Hollywood since his rookie year, was excited about his move to AZ, buoyed by his first few 2023 weeks, and benched him over a RBBC guy.

To make the situation more off kilter, a few weeks after I won the championship I traded Hollywood+Henry for Lamar+Akers. This is a 1qb league, but my other starter is Tua and his absence through the second half of the season almost cost this team a championship. I'm okay with holding Tua and hoping for the best, but I wanted a great co-QB1 as a alternate quality starter. I'm not the biggest believer in Akers, but he ran well enough in 2023 to make me think his floor is at least Flex-worthy, and his ceiling could be surprising. This is a keeper league, so I ended up dumping Singletary during cut-downs when I had to activate Javonte from the IL.

I'm sure that as the 2023 season starts, I'll end up posting Player Debates wondering whether to start Tua or Lamar, and wondering whether to start Akers/Pacheco at flex or Pickens/Skyy. Ahhhhh, the grind of indecision!!!
