2022 Week 14
Last week of the regular season, and I'm assuming a lot of people have a lot riding on the games this week! In my league I've got someone's 2023 1st and it will be either the 1.02 or 1.03 next year depending on how this week plays out (the 2nd and 3rd worst teams play each other this week with the winner getting the 1.03 and the loser getting the 1.02).

I have two leagues with playoffs starting this week… In one, half of my starters are on bye, so it’s gonna be a Cowboys-like playoffs for that team this year.
My other leagues (for the most part) have an unusually large separation between playoff and non-playoff teams, so this week is only determining seeding.

Playoffs on a bye week. That's brutal. How did the commissioner let that happen?Ruggenater wrote: ↑Thu Dec 08, 2022 12:39 pm I have two leagues with playoffs starting this week… In one, half of my starters are on bye, so it’s gonna be a Cowboys-like playoffs for that team this year.

Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

Re: 2022 Week 14
One regular season game to go in our league. 8 teams make the playoffs, 4 from each division. My division has:
17-4
15-6
13-8
13-8 (My team)
Then a bunch Non-playoff teams for sure (8-13, 8-13, 6-15, 6-15)
We play every team in our division twice (7 x 2 = 14 games) and each team in the other division once (8 x 1 = 8 games) for a total of 22 games.
So I will either be the #3 or #4 seed, and will face a "Home Field Advantage" deficit in Round 1 either way. It's a way to reward the top teams with a bit of a head start in the playoffs. So, it is an uphill battle...but one I'll gladly take after missing the playoffs for a few years entirely. At least there will be a "puncher's chance"!
Good luck to everyone!

(10 points for higher seed + 5 points per additional wins comparative to opponent) x 2/3...all rounded to the nearest 10th I believe.
So if things stand as they are and I'm the 4th seed, I'll face a deficit of 20 points. But, our scoring system is wonky and generous...it's really about 10 points of standard PPR Scoring.

I am in a similar situation in a 32 team, 2 copy full IDP league. Just barely squeaked in at 7-6 and facing off against an 11-2 wild card team with Pittman + Olave on byes and likely having to start guys like DeSean Jackson because there is no one else. Also been brutalized by injuries- lost Pitts, Khalil Herbert, Von Miller and some others. Re: 2022 Week 14
In order to have the Super Bowl in week 17, playoffs had to start this week. We are using the NFL model of 7 playoff teams per conference. I am the #4 seed Saints in the NFC, facing the #5 seed Seahawks. 1 team gets the bye, as they do in NFL now, and 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5. So as that plays out, our NFC conference champ will face off against the AFC conference champ in week 17. I guess starting in week 14 with byes made more sense than having the championship in week 18 with a lot of guys resting. Not ideal, but this league been a lot of fun so far.
