Expected Haul for Bijan

Postby Cherokee » Tue Dec 06, 2022 12:43 am

Team in Sig Earned the 1.01
I would love to add Bijan to this team. Would be fun to own him but at the same time, it's not the smart dynasty move.
I have no business holding him on my taxi nor starting him with my current roster.
All leagues vary and I know my league and fellow old-head dynasty GMs. No player will go for 3 1st round picks. I don't feel like trading down in this class makes sense either as a JSN or Addison plus a 1st feels too light for Bijan. So my thought is targeting a player and future pick. e.g. Pitts and a 24 1st. Of course, I'd love Chase or JJ straight up but dout that's a possibility as well. Which other players plus a future 1st would be a target in a full rebuild? And are any of you having this dilemma where you're possibly gonna be "stuck with" Bijan on a team that wont support him? What is your plan if any?
12 Team 1QB IDP Full PPR Start 8
QB- Kenny Pickett, Jake Haener, Clayton Tune
RB- Jerrick McKinnon, Elijah Mitchell, Gus Edwards, Kenneth Gainwell, TDP, Jordan Mason
WR- Rondale Moore, Drake London, Jordan Addison, Terrence Marshall , Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Mecole Hardman, Rashid Shaheed, David Bell
TE- Michael Mayer, Likely, Chig, Cade Otten
LB- Jewell, Deablo, Troy Anderson
DE- Phillips, Highsmith
DB- Brisker, Hufanga, Cine
Taxi Squad: Chase Brown, A.T. Perry, Keaton Mitchell, Khalan Laborn, Lew Nichols lll

I think you should expect a lot in return.

I don't think Chase or JJ is what your team needs. You need multiple prospects and picks to try to turn this around. And I get your point that moving Bijan is a good way to jump start that process.

What about asking for a young WR (ex. Waddle, Higgins) plus picks? Maybe that's a big ask but it's worth a try at the right time. I expect the Bijan hype to be off the chart.

That's the way I'd try to go, too. Maybe check for the Garrett Wilson owner.

The bolder part is the most important. No one’s paying the best price right now. In some of my leagues I wouldn’t even send out feelers for fear of seeing the price too low too early. You’ve got months to let the hype build. No need to rush.

The play is sit tight and wait for draft landing spots. Bijan is going to be rookie draft gold. If you get blown away make the move, otherwise take him and smile

This is where I would start. You have Wilson, but I like targeting Olave and another prospect or a 1st.
Pitts plus a 1st and maybe 2nd
Gibbs plus another later pick or a first

I would 100% expect to get multiple 1st's if not a solid rookie/1sts. Bijan is a dude and the last time someone like him came out (Saquon) he was getting traded for a significant amount of picks/players.

Like others said, wait for the combine and for him to blow it away, then draft landing spot, then listen to offers. You should be able to change the trajectory of your team with this move, you need to get it right.

upps, didn't check the roster that much. At least that would be a nice negotiating partner lol

Wonder how he feels about it...let's check in!

All of those still feel light for what Bijan has been hyped for, but the reality might be that's what you get. It's an end settle point if you really want to trade out, but I would be setting the bar much higher to see who takes the bait. You hold all the cards in this situation and should put the others into a bidding war. Murph is right tho...now is not the time to move it. There will be a higher window - maybe before the combine? Just in case he does test slower than thought? Or once Gibbs/company test out the roof people won't pay up as much.

Agreed. I’d wait to trade him. Agreed that you need to target longterm assets and not RBs. But I wouldn’t give him away…Barkley was going for 3-4 1sts, and I think that’s the type of return I’d expect. Olave/Wilson + would be a great way to start.

What these guys said.

You said "they're old school dynasty heads who won't give up 3x 1sts for Bijan" - well if that's the case, then you shouldn't give up Bijan.

Prime Barkley was easily fetching 3x 1sts, and that's the kind of haul you're looking for - something that truly moves the needle and seems like an overpay, and sets you up to dominate long-term.

No need to make your move until someone ponies up the correct price, and the price is only going to rise through the draft process from here.

Not clear if it's SF, but either way you need a QB.

You're right you'll need to sell Bijan (and unfortunately G. Wilson too, who is going to be a top 8 dynasty WR in the offseason). I have a SF team in a similar position where Pitts, London, and the 1.01 are my only assets of note.

But definitely wait until the hype builds unless you get a 3 1sts+ offer. Another approach you could utilize here is continually trading down in the draft and stockpiling assets along the way.
