2022 Week 13

Postby Shcritters » Thu Dec 01, 2022 1:00 pm

Week 13 about to start. Interested to see the results of the game tonight... NE hung with MIN, but the line is HEAVILY BUF favored. Think it's a close game, or a stomping?

The way Buffalo has been playing recently this could be closer than expected. Not due to NE being able to score, but BUF having its current hiccups on O. NE DEF could make this somewhat interesting.

I didn’t get to see the game, but I see Cook had a heck of a box score! How real did he look?

Mac Jones is just so average. He's checking down to Rhamondre down by 3 TD's in the 4th, missing open reads down the field. He's missing easy throws, or placing the ball in poor spots, even if it is complete. He's the definition of QB purgatory.

i've just watched the highlights, i got the impression it wasn't a very competitive game for long.

mac jones seems to have regressed some since last year.

Even his “big touchdown play” had nothing to do with him. The ball traveled 1 yard then the receiver caught it and ran the other 47 yards to the end zone. And then there is the interception that was called back.

To be fair, that is what Belichick wants. First priorities are to play good defense, no turnovers on offense. Kind of like Mike Zimmer. This philosophy may stunt Mac Jones' development though.

No kidding. I thought he'd have more in him, at least as a consistent QB2 in fantasy but I don't see him lasting.

I know we've joked about SF just taking Mac instead of 3 1s for Lance... but tbh Mac doesn't look much different than Jimmy

It's fair to say Mac has regressed this year. Part of me wonders if it's as simple as the difference between McDaniels and Matt Patricia on the OC scheme side of things. It would certainly fit all our priors of what we know of both coaches.

For all our hate of all this short game passing... it seems Mac is thinking the same thing we are.

For what it's worth as an amateur lip reader - I see "quick game sucks".

I really do feel like he's being mis-used, running this vanilla dink-dunk scheme. Just not even close to the same guy that was attacking downfield last year.

The only QB I have ever seen that could consistently win with Lousy Wr’s is Brady.

We have established He is no Brady but drop him into Miami or SF’s offense and he would look far better.

He is young but don’t see him overcoming that offense at this time without a significant infusion of talent in the line and at WR.

That said compared to Allen, like all but a very few, he is average at best.

Mac Jones offers zero in the rushing department. Without that padding the stats any passing deficiency really shows up in the box score at the end of the day. Not saying it's all his fault, but he's not an elevator QB. He needs the supporting cast around him to be right and he's simply gonna give you the base level of the talent and coaching around him.

I'm not OK with him as my QB2 on my fantasy team. He seems like a QB3 that is always gonna be on the trade block to downtier for value as soon as the opportunity knocks.

After the Cousins/Carr/Daniel Jones-ish tier, every QB after falls into the "non-difference maker" dead zone where everyone is the same.

Sad day when someone like Watson gets to step back on the field after 20+ cases. Not sure what we are doing in society anymore

Jets pass defense is elite. Impressive.
