What's the price difference between Toney and Pickens i.e. what needs to be added to Toney to consider trading Pickens?
I think I weigh the Patrick Mahomes QB bump more heavily than most.
Does adding John Metchie or Trey McBride move the needle at all?

Pickens and not close at all. I would need a mid 1st on top of Toney to move Pickens. Not much interest in Toney at all outside of a big time add or very low/cheap price to acquire straight up.

Highly doubt it, but anything is possible.
Pickens is still the better prospect, but with the help of Mahomes, Toney has closed the gap a bit.

Pickens is a much better prospect than Toney. One decent game does not outweigh a 1.5 seasons of ... whatever the heck that was he was doing in NY.
Even on a talent:talent comparison, my eyes prefer Pickens over Toney easily. Pickens has the look/movement/skill of a serial Top12WR. Toney has the look of a athletic gadget player. Unless Toney is going to be Deebo level gadget player, his production is going to be capped lower than a potential WR1.

Pickens is a better player at catching the football. Toney is a better player at running after he catches the football. Push comes to shove, you have to get open and catch it to succeed. I still prefer Pickens.

I would not swap Toney for Pickens straight up, Toney's upside is too high.
Given Toney's talent/draft capital, tape, situation, and advanced metrics (YPRR, target separation, target share, win rate vs. man, all are elite), he has top 5 WR upside. His only concern is availability, when he is on the field is elite.
Pickens is a decent prospect but he is the classic "I'm smarter than the NFL scouts" WR pick that gets taken in the second round every year. He's the 6"3" "alpha profile" that everyone falls in love with that the NFL was "crazy to let fall so far". You know the type, Terrace Marshall, Denzel Mims, Claypool, Metcalf, Chark, etc. Sometimes you get lucky and they turn into something, but most of the time these guys are athletes that make a few crazy plays here and there that keep people hanging on, but then flame out due to a lack of actual skill.
I'd bank on Toney's availability now that he seems to have found a home versus Pickens development as an actual football player.

Players that deserve this statement are not traded by a team with horrible WR talent. How can you possible not factor in the off field issues?
