Chase vs. Taylor

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Chase vs. Taylor

Postby joekuhns11 » Thu Aug 11, 2022 5:42 am

For my team not listed in signature, which way would you go?
I don't have a 2023 1st.

QB - Watson, Tua, Pickett
RB - Hall, KW3, James Cook, Jeffery Wilson, Kesean Vaughn
WR - Chase, Jeudy, Devonta Smith, Jameson Williams, Christian Watson, Parris Campbell, John Metchie, Justyn Ross, Calvin Austin, Corey Davis
TE - Pitts, Tonyan, Njoku

Would you give up Chase for Jonathan Taylor? If no, what would need to be added on his end? I'm just wondering if Taylor and Hall as my 1-2 punch would serve my team better than my current choices
Team #1 (Finished 2nd)
QB - Watson
RB - Hall, Jacobs, Mixon
WR - Tyreek, Jefferson, Chase, Jayden Reed, Cooper
TE - Goedert, Kmet
2024 Picks: 1.05, 1.10, 2.01

Team #2 (Finished 1st)
QB - Tua, Pickett
RB - Hall, Barkley, K. Walker, James Cook
WR - Chase, D. Smith, D. Adams, Hopkins, Jameson Williams
TE - Laporta
2024 Picks: None

Is this 1QB or SF? Either way I would hold Chase here, but it's much closer in a 1QB format. This team is so young and Hall and KW3 feel like a good 1-2 punch for a 2023 run. There's also not much great depth behind them on your roster. By 2023, Williams will also have his rookie year under his belt, Metchie will be back and the Falcons might actually have a QB who can get the ball to Pitts. The only way I would consider adding Taylor for Chase is if Watson's 6 game suspension is upheld and it's a 1-QB league. Even then, I think Chase holds way more value long term.

I love Taylor, but in dynasty formats give me the longer projected career of a stud WR like Chase. Chase is my #1 dynasty asset (I only have him over JJ because he's tied to Burrow, otherwise a tie for me).

D/ST: NE
K: Zuerlein

The Blues Brothers
10-team PPR (1-QB, 1-RB, 2-WR, 1-TE, 2-RB/WR/TE, 3-IDP, 1-K)

RB: Zeke, Cook, Mixon, Moss/Singletary, McKinnon, Gio, Rhamondre, Evans, Roundtree

Chase offers hopefully elite longevity. I would hold Chase unless I was stacked at WR and an RB away from a title run. Based on your build, hold.

With that roster I'd hold and be content with Chase as my cornerstone.

I'm curious if this is a Superflex league? I see you have 3 QBs
10 team | 10 Keepers | .5 ppr | QB | RBx2 | WRx2 | RB/WR/TE | WR/TE | K | D/ST

QB: Burrow | Prescott
RB: Chubb | Dobbins | Sanders | Edwards-Helaire | Patterson | Edmonds | Henderson | Edwards | Benjamin
WR/TE: Moore | London | Kelce | Cooks | Lockett | Lazard | Parker | Jones

Not a SF. I had Mac Jones as much QB last year and traded him for Tua cuz I’m a find fan and Watson. Was out. Drafted Pickett because it was the 5th round and he was there.
