Huh? Kolar’s athletic profile is substantially better than Likely’s pretty much across the board.
He tested better but they have totally different body types for the same position. Likely basically played slot WR in college IIRC. Kolar would be the Andrews replacement with Likely as the move TE.

Sounds like we're going to get some answers immediately. Andrews is out for Game 1.

If Likely can continue to draw targets with those 3 WR's on the field, it will be impressive.

The Andrews handcuff is getting used today. Why not over some other dart throw TE2s?

I hope Likely has a huge game, but I gotta go Kittle over him. Wishing those starting him the best! Very curious how he plays with Lamar and with the current receiving core.

Just doing a waiver wire check on this guy. Is he still owned in your leagues or has he been ejected? I’m holding in a few still and will probably continue to do so in my deep bench leagues. But in 24 roster leagues he sorta feels like a drop? Showed promise last year but I was hoping to see more week 1

In leagues with shallower rosters, he's a drop for me. I dropped him last week in team 1 in my sig.

In leagues with super deep rosters, I'd hold for now. Especially in super deep TEP leagues.

Agreed. He’s still rostered in all mine, but they are 12 team, 28 rosters…with a 2ppr TEP.

Someone dropped him a couple weeks ago, and I picked him up off FA. I may end up dropping him in turn at some point later.

I think the main reason I held Likely so long for team 1 in my sig is because I had Mark Andrews his rookie season and got impatient and cut him for a player I thought could help me more immediately. Today Andrews plays for a super team in that league and it drives me crazy that I helped that manager build that roster in part by cutting Andrews. It hasn't really hurt me because it's not TEP and I ended up with Goedert so I'm okay at TE.

I've been holding on to Likely so if Andrews ever goes out I can stick it to that manager. and get a good laugh at his expense. But, I beat him in the championship game last season, though he was the highest scoring team in the league. And I just beat him in week 6 and handed him his first loss of this season, though he is once again the highest scoring team. I felt it was a good time to get over my Andrews PTSD and use Likely's bench spot on a better asset.

Andrews handcuff if you have the space

Although, in this new Monken offense, I don't think it will be as simple as that. The WR likely fill in more than the backup TE

So what do we think of Likely now that he has the starting spot rest of the season? Solid first half last night and then disappeared.

He has to be a top 10 TE for rest of season, that position is a wasteland and Lamar will throw to the TE regardless who it is. He won't produce like Andrews did, but he can still put up solid weeks with 10-18 points.

I mean, maybe.. he just put up 4 for 40 (TE19) this week, so I don't think top 10 is a lock.

Yeah, agreed with CGW.

This narrative of "Lamar feeds the TE no matter who it is" predates the Ravens having better options to throw to.

Look no further than Zay Flowers immediately going off for two TD's for his best fantasy day of the season. Likely is, at best, the 4th (maaaaybe 3rd) passing option as it currently stands.

Also worth saying that "the TE position is a wasteland" is also a narrative not long for the world.

There have never been more challengers to Kelce's throne, both production-wise, and Dynasty value-wise.

TE is back and kicking in 2023. It legitimately might be the year that TE was made great again.

I mean, he was #19 but #10 scored 1.9 points more than him so there really wasn't much difference between 10-19 this past week. I agree there are many young TE's who are emerging, but that's more of a dynasty POV where i stated ROS for rankings. In a week in, week out basis he's likely in my later top 10 but we'll see.
