Move an early 2023 1st for Bateman, 1.07+?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Move an early 2023 1st for Bateman, 1.07+?

Postby johnnymozart » Wed Apr 27, 2022 8:51 pm

Trade would be one of the 2023 early projected firsts I own (the other being my own team's) and a 2024 2nd for Bateman, 1.07 and 2.09

2023 early 1st
2024 2nd

For
1.07
Bateman
2.09

This is in my 12 team rebuild in signature. Is this enough to move a coveted 2023? It's normally a no but this seems like a decent package that fits my rebuild as well
My team/Picks (14 Teamer- .5PPR) Start 1 QB, 2-3 RB, 2-3 WR, 1-2 TE
QB Lamar Jackson, Russ Wilson
RB A Gibson, Mostert, Aaron Jones, Penny IR, D.Pierce, Haskins
WR Amon-Ra, KAllen, Mike Evans, Sutton, TBoyd, GDavis, Dotson, Pierce
TE Mark Andrews, Goedert, LThomas
K Tucker
2024- No Picks
2025- 1, 2, 3

Rebuild Sad Orphan 12 team .5PPR -- Start 1QB, 2-4 WR, 2-4 RB, 1-3 TE

QB. Lamar, DJones (IR)
RB Bijan, Gibbs, J. Conner, Z. White, TSpears, Demercado, J Mason
WR Amon-Ra St Brown, Puka, J. Reed, R. Shaheed, C.Tillman, Osborn, CSamuel, Pierce, Ross
TE Andrews, Ferguson, Ertz
DEF- Texans, Patriots
2025 2
2026 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3

In a rebuild, I would 100% hold the early 1st here. That pick will be so valuable this time next year and the 1.07 is not a great pick this year. Bateman could go either way. Hold.

early first. Lamar can't support a true difference making WR, IMO. Hasn't shown the ability outside the hashes, don't think he ever will.

I'll take the 23 first here too. Bateman is too risky, and the 1.7 is even riskier.

Yes. Stick with your picks I’d rather take my chances with them than roll the dice on Bateman in the ravens offense. When was the last time a ravens WR was a difference maker on a fantasy team?
Qb: Hurts, geno Smith
Rb: JT, Gibbs, Montgomery, Roschon, Z. White, Ty Chandler
Wr: AJB, JJ, Chase, waddle, G Wilson
TE: Pitts, Kincaid, Likely, Njoku

2024 1.01, 1.04, 1.05
10 team
9 players kept yearly
Non PPR
Not super flex
Start 1/1/2/1/2 flex
1 point per first down
All tds 6 points

Piling on. Keep the 23 1st. Bateman and 1.07 only enhance the chance of your pick being lower next year too. I would dedicate the year to selling any player where you get a nice return, starting with Stafford, those TEs and Amon Ra. No need to force it, but I would move them if you get get slight overpays as this team needs time and picks.

Also, if you decide to trade your premium picks, do it for established players, not guys like Bateman. It'll get you into competitive mode much faster.

Early 2023. I like Bateman and he’s a hold for me but anything in the top8 2023 is going to be gold

Hard to predict that trade before last night. Call me crazy, but the value of 2022 picks probably went down even further if you can imagine that with the landing spots of the 1st round WRs. Not sure I wouldn't still lean toward the 2023 1st, although I can now see the appeal of having two shots at prospects with bateman and the 1.07.
