Penny deal in SF (poll)

Postby Hankybro21 » Wed Apr 27, 2022 12:12 pm

Team 2. 10tm SF.

Give: Penny + 2023 2nd
Get: 2023 1st

The 1st will probably be 1.07-1.09 overall. The second will probably be pick 13-14. So I'd be moving off of penny to move up maybe 4-7 slots? This trade would be with the Carson owner FWIW. I'm not convinced Seattle doesn't take an RB this weekend so would like to move Penny while I can/if I can. That being said, the way he showed out at the end of last season was quite impressive if it could be sustained.

Thoughts?

I think the 2023 1st will have much higher value this time next year than Penny +.

I voted for the first. Would also like to get a deal done pre draft if I were you.

Please make this deal before the offer gets revoked. I have low expectations for Penny in that offense and it is a really nice value you are getting here. You'll be ecstatic come this time next offseason.

I've long been a big Penny fan but you can't move down from 1.07 down to mid 2nd given his history. I still like him, old crushes die hard, but it wouldn't surprise me if he played another 2 years and has 2 games where he eclipses 75 yards.

current value its fine but i expect penny to be really good and his value to rise. pete carroll was absolutely gushing over him and how excited he was about him getting the chance to do what they drafted him in the 1st round to do. this isnt a situation where a new coach has no ties to a player from an old regime. he absolutely wants to show everyone why he wanted penny so bad.

final 5 games dude had 6 td, a 7.3 ypc, and 4 of the 5 games he cleared 135 rush yards. i would be holding and seeing whats in store for 2022. you dont just scoff at those numbers and look for a replacement when you took the guy in the first round back in 2018. his career ypc is 5.6 that is absurdly good, he just needed to stay healthy and i get thats a risk with him but man ill take that risk if it can lead to those numbers

Seems fair. Penny is worth an early to mid 2nd. That 1.07 is likely in the top tier of prospects for next year. Dont love having to add the early 2nd here, but I'd probably take the pick. If you can find a way to make that 2023 2nd something less, I'd jump all over it.

First not close. Penny flashed but this is a bad offense and a guy who’s had one very small great stretch his whole career. Easily grab that 23 first where you can get a great player
