Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread

Postby Pullo Vision » Thu Apr 21, 2022 5:00 pm

Normally, teams would rather trade picks two years out rather than one year. This year, that's exacerbated by the 2023 hype- teams holding their next year picks with death grips, and angling to send me '24 picks instead of '23.

Crazy early, but thoughts on the 24 draft class?

Trayeveon Henderson looks to be on the fast track to 1.1 (way too early to say but still--from a devy point of view)

Brock Bowers had one of the greatest freshman TE seasons ever

Xavier Worthy of Texas also dominated at a level rarely seen for his age on a dumpster fire team

Caleb Williams was a freshman standout with a very fantasy friendly skillset but some definite questions as he goes to USC

I don't know enough about anyone else but I always buy future picks at a discount so I'd go for it here too

It’s obviously very early, but it looks like another strong class for RB’s. Henderson looks like he could be an absolute stud and then you have the kid at Wisconsin as well. Should be some quality QB prospects at the top as well.

If 23 is as loaded as they say, you could get a few guys that go back to school and then come out in 24. Usually that's not ideal, or can be viewed as a sign they aren't as good as the competition. It might even out the classes some vs the perceived value though.

The 2020 class and ETN come to mind

Damn, good points. Im in a rebuild and have invested pretty heavily into 22 and 23, if something like this happens it would not be good for me. 24 picks arent available in my league for quite some time but this point makes me think perhaps i should go out and grab one more when i can depending on how everything shakes out of course.

Should be another solid class. I don't think it's as deep as 2023, but it definitely has some power at the top:

RB: Trey'veon Henderson, Braelon Allen, Rocket Sanders
WR: Marvin Harrison Jr., Xavier Worthy, Emeka Egbuka
TE: Brock Bowers
QB: Caleb Williams

I am already going against the grain slightly and trying to accumulate 24s while everyone else focusses on 23s. Especially in SF.

I can see Ewers being the best QB from the two classes combined. Then there is Williams and Maye behind him. At running back Henderson and Allen are leading the way, but I think there will be some fast risers (Edwards at UM comes to mind). Harrison may be the best WR in the country (I have seen some scouts say this). All around, I think the talent in the first round will be similar to 23, but not as much depth getting into late R2 and later.

In 1 qB leagues my line is 1.06/1.07 and Im not feeling great after that with my 2023 1st round pick. In 2 qB its gonna be 1.10
I think a couple under the radar WRs will make it into our 1st round Rookie Drafts in Rashee Rice and Cedric Tillman sooner than later and time left for QBs to make a strong push.
In the 24 class, MHJr. And Worthy both look outstanding and the RB class will be comparable along with QBs being better. Trading out 23 1st after 1.06ish for a random 24+ seems like a decent move once you kinda know where you sit in Late Nov. (IMO)The hype will cool come March

Is it crazy to see the 22 WR class as far superior to the 23?
12 Team 1QB IDP Full PPR Start 8
QB- Kenny Pickett, Jake Haener, Clayton Tune
RB- Jerrick McKinnon, Elijah Mitchell, Gus Edwards, Kenneth Gainwell, TDP, Jordan Mason
WR- Rondale Moore, Drake London, Jordan Addison, Terrence Marshall , Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Mecole Hardman, Rashid Shaheed, David Bell
TE- Michael Mayer, Likely, Chig, Cade Otten
LB- Jewell, Deablo, Troy Anderson
DE- Phillips, Highsmith
DB- Brisker, Hufanga, Cine
Taxi Squad: Chase Brown, A.T. Perry, Keaton Mitchell, Khalan Laborn, Lew Nichols lll

22 has more depth than 23 or 24 WRs, though 23 still has a few studs at the top.

The strength in 23 is the QB and RB depth.

I think the 24 class is going to really pick up steam this off season

QB: Williams, Ewers, Drake Maye
RB: Henderson, Sanders, Allen, Shiply
WR: Harrison Jr, Worthy, Mario Williams
TE: Bowers

Guys like D Edwards, Ja Corey Brooks, and Beaux Collins could really make a jump as well.

Doesn't every class as players look to sell all their assets for future picks and then want to feel good about the trades they made? Gotta have that Shiney new toy

QB- Burrow, Murray, Stafford, G Smith
RB- CMC, Taylor, Swift, Jacobs, B Hall, Gibbs, A Jones, Najee
WR- Kupp, AJB, ARSB, K Allen, Pittman, London, Puka, Dell
TE- Kelce, Hockenson, Pitts

24 is going to be a solid class. It just lacks the depth of 22 and 23.
