Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread

Side note: Is anyone else wondering why the Jets aren’t in the QB market? They literally lost Rodgers 4 plays into last season. He’s old as f*ck. But they’re acting like they’re set at the position.

Did they learn nothing from last year? It’s sad to see that roster wasted year after year with crap QB play.

They learned from Aaron's years in GB what happens when his GM drafts a QB in the 1st round. Aaron takes off his diaper and starts crapping all over the place, stomping around and crying about how unhappy he is.

The Jets knew the devil they were dealing with, and now they're just going to have to let him burn the house down. Really just a stupid trade from the beginning. Now they're going to waste a golden opportunity to trade for a high draft pick to get a QB of the future, because they're worried about how Aaron is going to react to them not drafting a player he thinks is good for HIM. Then when he leads the Jets to a 9-8 season and the team is ready to move on from Aaron, their 2025 draft pick won't be high enough to get a good rookie QB.

It's going to be a long slow climb back up that hill to respectability.

If they don't have a winning season this year, everyone's fired anyway - FO, and Coaches.

I'm putting the over/under on the date at Jan9, 2025. One day after the regular season ends.

Who is somebody you're going to reach on in this draft?

I'm avoiding Legette and Coleman.
I'm reaching on Pearsall and Bowers in TEP (if it even IS a reach).

Avoiding: JJ McCarthy (not onboard that hype machine) and Brian Thomas Jr (my understanding is he is a great NFL prospect, but not the type of WR that’s going to be a fantasy star).

Reaching: Trey Benson (Homer pick, but people are focusing too hard on his ‘23 tape and not watching his ‘22 tape where he really popped). Franklin and Pearce (not just Presidential, but both seem extremely talented with questions about their body types? Heard a fantasy dude opine that it really doesn’t matter anymore in today’s NFL because DBs have been effectively nerfed from heavy hitting anyway)

JJM is going to be elite in a PPH league (Points per handoff)

The hype machine around JJM is incredible. I remember saying ~3 months ago that he looked like he could be a steal in SF drafts. Now he might have moved so much to be an "avoid at cost". And all this has happened w/o any new information (other than combine I guess). If he goes to MIN, it's going to get crazy.

This happens every year with rookie QBs. They're considered roughly second or third round NFL draft picks in December, by draft day they're top 15.

This happens every year with rookie QBs. They're considered roughly second or third round NFL draft picks in December, by draft day they're top 15.

Sometimes they crash back down on Draft night - Levis and Willis come to mind (as a Titans fan). I wonder what happens with JJM (and Maye).

Reaching: I reached/overpaid for MHJ in 2 leagues and bought for fair market value in another.
Avoiding: Odunze, Leggette, Daniels

Sorry, I meant 1-4 in the NFL draft, with six TOTAL QBs going in the first round of the NFL draft. I think Penix/Nix in Superflex are going to go early 2nd, later in 1 QB leagues.

I'm hoping somehow Daniels slides to me at 15. Would smash and grab him at 22 if he falls that far in my league. And he could. I snagged Richardson late in the 2nd last year

Haven't seen Odunze's name associated with avoid very often. I personally love his cost compared to the other 2 WR studs. I don't expect him to be that far behind in production.
