This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

You will miss out on some high end talent but the extra earlier round picks are pretty appealing here. I struggle with startup trade values but seems like the value is here but this could really set you back at QB. I am interested to see what others think.

Probably pass.

Going off rankings, its Herbert at 1.04, 10.09 Jamies, 12.09 Goff for 2.05 Prescott, 4.05 Fields, 6.05 Mac Jones

I'd feel safer with Herbert starting up.

Easy pass for me. I’d rather have whatever QB you want at 4 and then the next best QB with your 2nd pick
Team #1 (Finished 2nd)
QB - Watson
RB - Hall, Jacobs, Mixon
WR - Tyreek, Jefferson, Chase, Jayden Reed, Cooper
TE - Goedert, Kmet
2024 Picks: 1.05, 1.10, 2.01

Team #2 (Finished 1st)
QB - Tua, Pickett
RB - Hall, Barkley, K. Walker, James Cook
WR - Chase, D. Smith, D. Adams, Hopkins, Jameson Williams
TE - Laporta
2024 Picks: None

I'd have a hard time moving 1.4 in a start up before I was on the clock. You never know what could happen

Starting spots? I’d probably attempt to drop the 12 or replace it with a very late pick but value is solid here regardless if it’s a fairly deep league.

What are your starting requirements? For me, if you have to start 10 or more position players, I'm all for getting more picks and giving up the 1.04 pick.

Looking at it from a theoretical perspective, in a 10 man starting line-up, you figure it would take 10 rounds (120 picks) for every team to draft their starters. In this trade, you'd have your 10th player drafted by the 8th round... having 11 players in the top 100. While I don't draft to fill out a starting line-up, it would give you more quality startable players.

I like to take my draft sheet, look at all the players available at the draft slots I would have, if I make the trade, and see if I like what I could potentially have. Keep in mind that some talent gets over drafted and some talent will fall so having more picks gives you more options for picking up fallen talent or making moves up or down the draft board.

I would rather have the Dak/Fields side myself, and would make this trade pretty easily. FF is fun.

Same but those QBs likely all long gone before those spots. Dak 1st round, Fields 2/3, Mac 4/5

No, I wouldn't do that, not enough payback.

I made a similar move in a May 2021 startup draft
I traded away 1.03, and my 37th and 38th round draft picks for 2.08, 4.08, and 8.08 in a 12 team SF startup.

It worked out well for me, but I got kinda lucky too that the idiots in front of me left Justin Herbert on the board for me at 2.08.
So the other guy picked Saquon Barkley at 1.03 with my pick, and I wound up taking Herbert at 2.08, I traded 4.08 to move up and grab Russell Wilson at 4.03, and Trey Sermon at 8.08 (oops).

However many rounds there are, I'd give him the last 2 rounds with the 1.04. Make him pay the price to move up.
If he wants to stick with 1.04, 10.09, and 12.09, then I want 2.05, 3.08, and 5.08.

A top 5 pick should have a hefty price tag attached to it, IMO.
