Seattle Seahawks TE Noah Fant said he is excited about playing in the team's offense because he believes the play-action pass will be favorable to tight ends.
https://www.nfl.com/news/noah-fant-frus ... -tight-end
"I feel like when I came into the league, that's what I was drafted to do, right?" he said of making explosive plays. "Get down the field, make those explosive plays, and kind of be that pass catching tight end. And over my time in Denver, I felt like that narrative kind of got muddled down a little bit. It was more of a focus of me catching flat balls or whatever it may be, and then trying to be a shifty guy and elusive guy and try to break as many tackles possible to get my yards. I view myself as a downfield threat, getting open space, then I can make things happen. It was a little frustrating being used in the short field."
https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2 ... ight-ends/
“Honestly, I like — now, granted, this is from just like a month coming in — but I like the way they use the tight ends,” Fant said, via Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune. “I like the way we get passing concepts down the field. The run game, obviously it’s going to be all built off the run game, which is a huge part of the game. Obviously, the play action is going to be huge. So it’s a very balanced offense, which I like. And it’s very favorable to the tight end. So it’s nice.”
It's more about the way he expects to be used in this offense as a downfield playmaker rather than an outlet in the flat.

At the time of the post, he was coming off a historically good rookie season. Now, he's just one of the potatoes in the sack of potatoes from TE8 to TE20 so he probably is a qualifier in the "After the big 5...." convo.

For instance, I'd much rather pay a 2nd for Pitts vs a 2nd for adjacent TEs Njoku, Thomas, Higbee, Waller, Henry, Otton, Musgrave, Goedert, Everett, Chig, Hill...list continues, but I'm tired of typing random TEs who score similarly...

So the point of the post I assume is identifying potential buys. Pitts was not a buy back then, but at his current price? Sure, even despite being a massive disappointment to date. For reference, I got him in a throwin to a larger deal instead of a mid 2nd (12tm SF). At that price, name another bum on the list above youd rather have? Maybe Goedert?

He's definitely on the list of TEs you can start the remainder of this year. Up until the midpoint this season I can't say that was really a true statement though. He's been borderline unstartable for 6 years. He's been on fire lately though. Flacco loves the guy. If he keeps up what he's been doing he's one of the most attractive TEs for a playoff run.

Isn’t it amazing how much better everyone in CLE is when Watson is out? That trade is worse than the Wilson trade as Watson just isn’t the same guy from a few years back.

I don't think Njoku being good lately has much to do with Watson being out, as Watson wasn't his QB the last 6 years. But Flacco certainly seems to elevate him.

I think we forget Njoku was drafted at 21 so he's still just 27 years old. He also "broke out," got injured the next year, and then the Browns went all Browns, PAID Hooper lol and blocked his PT. When Njoku is the #1 TE he produces, unfortunately he plays for the browns and Stefanski that employs 2 TE more than about anyone in the league. Hopefully this year will put an end to that stupidity.

Also, if we are going to honor Engram, Goedert, Schultz, Freiermuth and Musgrave.....then there's really no excuse for not honoring Njoku......I think that's my main point. 27 is still young for a TE - RE: Kelce.
