After the big 5 what TEs stick out at ya?

Postby joeday » Fri Mar 25, 2022 11:41 am

So I think we can all agree that the top 5 TEs (in some order) are Travis Kelce, George Kittle, Kyle Pitts, Mark Andrews, and Darren Waller. After those guys, who are the next 2 TEs you target to roster/start long term.

The tier from 6-10(in my rankings) is really nice and full of great young targets: Goedert, Hock, Muth, Schultz, Gesicki. I wouldn't be surprised if several of those guys start outscoring Kelce and Waller very soon as those older guys start to age out. If I'm rebuilding and I hold Kelce, Waller, even Kittle, I am desperately trying to trade them for Goedert, Hock, or Muth plus right now.

Only guys I want at their prices outside of those five are Hock and Goedert

Outside of that it's a crapshoot and I'd rather be quick on waivers/shoot darts at Trey Mcbrides

I can see him cracking the top 10 just because the guys after him are a bunch of question marks, but I'm very concerned about his target share now. If someone is willing to pay top 10 prices, I'd sell.

Watson to Njoku is the Brees to Graham connection of our generation.

Right. What sticks out to me is that it isn't at least a top 6. I'm fading Waller and think most are fading Kelce already.

Give me Goedert and Friermuth and Schultz if he's cheaper than the rest. Other than that it's mostly dart throws

Schultz for me. Still attainable and with cooper gone I think he is a top 5 te this year, maybe too 3.

It's exactly these two head and shoulders above the rest of those names for me too. Both have shown the ability to be quality starters with less than stellar QB play. As standalone assets, I feel like they can thrive no matter the situation - and if either team finds an elite asset at QB (which is possible, given both teams holding high draft capital) then they could truly boom.

I also like the Muth. If he keeps doing it in Year 2 then he's going to ascend in ADP in a big way.

I do think its time to start fading Waller and Kelce. Kelce is up there in age and as of now is going to be double covered on every play. The opposite is true for waller, he should be wide open quite often but i just think that he has declined physically.

Hockenson is going to have a true breakout sooner rather than later, he has been very good for a young Te to start his career, maybe this is the year, maybe its not but it will happen.

Cheap Cheap sleepers include Gerald Everett and Brevin Jordan. Could probably snag both for a 4th round pick and why not try?

I also like Freirmuth and id be trying to acquire him before the breakout that will be coming soon.

If anything this thread should make far and away clear that Schulz is the biggest TE sell in years

Quite the opposite I think. I don't think he's valued nearly as much as he should be.

I just don't think he's very good tbh

I was sure the Jags would give him a big contract only to never be heard from again a la Julius Thomas
