After the big 5 what TEs stick out at ya?
Re: After the big 5 what TEs stick out at ya?
This thread is one of the best threads I've read in a while. I was entertained from the first page to the last.
I feel like the position is deeper than it's ever been, and you can make a case for nearly anyone out there.

He could be a thing but may be later in the year. The Texans really seem excited about Pep Hamilton who is installing a new offense so not sure just how he will do but he gets a chance to grow with Mills who the Texans really like as well.Lumps wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 8:45 amAgreed here as well.esloan35 wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 8:32 amI’m tracking with you on Jordan. Still very young, but very athletic and no one in the TE room for competition anymore.
The rebirth of the Texans so to speak should be fun to watch.
I don't own him but you guys have me thinking he may be worth picking up a share in one of my leagues that I have a spot for developmental TE.

He's in year 2. Only 21 y.o, but his metrics aren't great. He ran a 4.73 40 time (4.68 Pro day)Ice wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 8:50 amHe could be a thing but may be later in the year. (https://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/brevin-jordan/) but there's literally no one else around him for competition.
Seems like a decent dart throw over some of the other fish out there.
Side note: Will Foster Moreau become anything with Waller on the potential "decline".
Re: After the big 5 what TEs stick out at ya?
David Njoku now making top 5 TE money... I did not see that coming.
Hard to ignore that kind of cash, might need to bump him up.

To be clear: I’m not planting a flag that Jordan will jump into the top 5, but rather he could join the cluster of startable guys that there is no meaningful difference between.YouMightDieTryin wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 9:08 amHe's in year 2. Re: After the big 5 what TEs stick out at ya?
Athleticism is less important for Move Tight Ends like Brevin (think Zach Ertz). They're basically just big bodied slot receivers with the TE designation.Lumps wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 2:14 pmTo be clear: I’m not planting a flag that Jordan will jump into the top 5, but rather he could join the cluster of startable guys that there is no meaningful difference between.YouMightDieTryin wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 9:08 amHe's in year 2. There will definitely be opportunity in HOU and his athleticism and draft capital are not the limiting factors people assume they are.. but what's going against him is his lackluster rookie season production and efficiency.
People are always hoping for TE's to be productive but you've got to remember that very, very few of these guys become consistently fantasy relevant.
Re: After the big 5 what TEs stick out at ya?
I grabbed Jordan late last season, think he's got a chance to become pretty solid.Young QB and he's essentially a chain mover so I'm hoping he becomes startable but dont think he touches top 5.

Re: After the big 5 what TEs stick out at ya?
OJ Howard got a massive QB upgrade and is likely dirt cheap. Though, he’s likely rostered and for the price you’d pay someone would probably rather hold. Maybe if you started as a different trade and asked for him as a toss in.
There are much worse bets than that offense…

He's behind Dawson Knox though. You think he has fantasy football value as the TE2 there or are you thinking he'll beat out Knox?Lumps wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 8:13 am OJ Howard got a massive QB upgrade and is likely dirt cheap. Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.
Re: After the big 5 what TEs stick out at ya?
I think you’re betting on the latter. I don’t think Knox has been extremely impressive. Howard was quite the athlete but we know that hasn’t meant much.Pac_Eddy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 9:17 amHe's behind Dawson Knox though. Knox in the Red Zone. Howard between the 20s. Gabriel Davis all of the above.Lumps wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 9:57 amI think you’re betting on the latter. As a habitual tight end hoarder, I thoroughly enjoyed this thread. Always hoping that one day I’m gonna hit that “lottery” ……..one day 🥺

Re: After the big 5 what TEs stick out at ya?
I just cut a Washington TE after seeing I owned 2 of them…. that aren’t Logan Thomas. Wentz is leading this sinking ship and I think MAYBE I shouldn’t be hopeful for that environment. I STILL have 10 of 35 slots for TE. At least it’s TEP?
