Akers

Postby BabyChark23 » Fri Mar 11, 2022 7:28 am

12 Team, PPR, SF

Been trying to get off the Akers train for a while, but people are skiddish. Now discussing this.

Give: Akers

Get: Pittman OR 1.09

I would be happy with either Pittman or 1.09 in a SF for Akers, but I would lean 1.09 over Pittman at this time.

I think Akers will get re-hyped and you can do better than pittman but it’s not terrible. 1.09 seems really light for Akers at this point.

If it was not a SF I would agree the 1.09 is light, but I am thinking 3 QBs go in the top 10 of a SF draft so the 1.09 is the RB3 or WR 3. I would take Hall, Spiller, Walker, London, Wilson, and Burks over Akers right now.

Akers for me… he will be better this season than he was in the playoffs as he continues to recover

Toss up for me only because he has a massive ceiling if he can come back. Perhaps it depends on where you are competitively. If a contender, take Akers, if rebuilding, Pittman or the pick.

I think Pittman is the much safer asset. Akers will likely gain value as the season approaches but I do not think it's safe to say he will be a better version than he was in the playoffs to the extent he will ever be a solid RB. His recovery was impressive and while he should improve, what does that mean exactly. Only time will tell but he was awful in the playoffs.

Akers has the ability to benefit your team far more than Pittman or the 1.09 (imo) so the choice is easily Akers for me.

The way I look at it is there are a lot more WR in the game that will deliver similar points what Pittman can and probably will, especially now that they just dealt Wentz away. Whereas Akers could potentially become a top 5-10 RB as lead back for the LA Rams

Akers is a big buy for me but in dynasty leagues. I just see him being valued by many “experts” in the top 10 of their dynasty rankings. Once ADP catches up when people are researching I think he’s going to be a great sell high candidate in the Summer to get yourself a top 10 dynasty WR
