Would You Offer Either of These Trades?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Would You Offer Either of These Trades?

Postby Gatorguy7275 » Sat Feb 19, 2022 9:18 am

I was 3rd in my league last year. I traded my '22 1st & 2nd for JRob during my playoff push. With his injury, I'm not counting on him going forward. I was contacted by the 2nd place Mgr after indicating post-season that some of my players like Deebo, Barkley, Gibson, Aiyuk, Mooney & Claypool were potentially available. Other Mgr has all the other players, + 22 1.09 & 2.01. We'll likely wait until after NFL Draft to discuss, but in my shoes, would you make any of these trades?
#1: Deebo+Saquon+ 23 1st for AJB or DK Metcalf + D'Andre Swift, OR

#2:Deebo + Saquon/Gibson + Mooney or 24 1st for Waddle + Swift.

With either of these trades I get out from under SB uncertainty, I get younger & hopefully have > years of productivity. My trade partner gets 3 assets for 2, & valuable 1sts. I think trade #2 is the better one for me & maybe I could get his 22 1.09 added to his side. Thoughts?
Thanks & be safe out there!

As much as I would struggle to move the 2023 1st, I like the first deal bug I have zero interest in Barkley moving forward and would get out for the price. Despite a down year, I prefer Brown to Samuel too. Samuel was great but if the rushing dries up with Lance, he will not be as productive.

I like deal #2
Waddle >= Deebo (I just don't trust Deebo to hold up long term in this role)
Swift > Barkley+Mooney (I'm out on Barkley, Mooney is not a difference maker)

I find deal #1 difficult to interpret. If I'm reading it correctly, I don't like it. I certainly would not move all 3 pieces for AJB alone. I would also pass on Metcalf+Swift. If find Metcalf too inconsistent at that price. And now he could lose Wilson.

Good call on deal #1. I thought the OP was getting all three pieces.

If either of those trades is on the table I’d pull the trigger immediately but I think your valuing Barkley to high if your offering those trades (assuming trade number two is Barkley OR Gibson) . Your going after young hot names and Barkley is far from his #1 overall asset days

Both Deal #1 & #2 were my 3 pieces for his 2, which is what I thought I'd have to offer to get younger talented players. So deal #1 was my 3 pieces for either AJB or Metcalf & Swift. The vibe I'm getting is that I'm doing the right thing to try to trade Deebo while he's hot & unload Barkley, but I'm aiming too high re my hoped-for return. Of course it depends on the other Mgr's perspective. I know him & while he's no fool, I have nothing to lose by offering.

I believe he would be getting his choice of AJB OR DK to go with Swift.

If that's the case, I would definitely do that.
